I have a 3 1/2 year old girl and we've been doing Flintstone vitamins for a while. Just wondering what the best vitamin out there is? There are so many out there!

What can I do next?

We like the Rainbow Light stars vitamins. All natural and my kids (even my super picky eater) chew them with no problem.

Hey! I just started using OneSource Gummies. They're right next to the Flintstone vitamins...at Walmart. There isn't any artificial coloring in the Gummies. Hard to believe they sneak artificial coloring into vitamins!

Little Critters has no artificial colors or flavors and it is reasonably priced and readily available. I was doing Animal Parade for my son but just switched to all gummies(I am using Hero) because I use it like a dessert for him. You just have to put it away out of reach because my son loves gummies and I have to be firm in saying no when he wants more. I also give him only 1 a day when they say to give 2 or 3. It's a supplement and not meant to be the entire nutrition.

I've been giving my son gummy multivatamins for a while. When I asked my pedi about it, he said there is no empirical evidence that giving vitamins is beneficial because the body can only use vitamins it needs and will expel anything extra. Since the diet in the US tends to be good, your child most likely already gets all of the vitamins he/she needs, so anything extra will not help. I don't think it will hurt, but unless your child has a poor diet (or is a very poor eater), they will not do much good. I have a hard time buying this because our culture is so "pro-vitamins". However, I do believe that vitamins that we get from real food (fruits & veggies) is better for you than those that come from a gummy bear.

We like the Rainbow light Nutristars too. They are whole food based so more bioavailable for your body to absorb. The kids like the taste ( I don't) and even ask for them every morning.

WHen looking for a vitamin make sure you look for artificial colors and sugar. Aspartame is poison, Flintstone vitamins have it in them.
