K.K.
Hi M.,
We also have hardwood floors and insisted that the socks have grippers. After time we realized that NO socks are better than socks when they are just learning to walk (for my twins it was 16 months, not 10). We still prefer the boys walk on the floors without socks because they slip when they run and it's too hard to stop them from running.
But to keep the socks on, we would buy socks up 1 size from the age of our kids. We use Circo mostly, but would buy socks big enough to cover their knees or come up to their knees, and pulled the socks up to that point. If you daughter is big then maybe try going up 2 sizes (our boys are in the 25th %ile) but either way the boys couldn't get the socks off and they never slipped off when I pulled them that high.
Also, I have had other brands of socks, ranging from Carters to Baby Gap to Gymboree, and the grip seemed to be the same after a couple washes. That why we chose to just stick with Circo. Just my experience.
Good luck!
