I can't imagine why it wouldn't be just fine for him to have ot in his room!
My hubby and I have been married now for 7 yrs. Together four nine. Over our younger years we had ALOT of posters. I worked for Spencers Gifts which carries them and he worked for SAMGOODY(music store). So we have had these and just moved them everytime we moved. We never really talked about putting um up cause we were always in apt. didnt want the hassell of knowing we would eventually have to pack um up aiain.
We are now renting my sisters house and probably will be here for a while, if not buying it off her. So over the weekend we pulled out this bundle of probably over 400 posters. We went through them all. kept ones we wanted to decorate living room and so on...we are just those people...i paint so it a good mixture of my art, and other cool art..one of my favs in early 20's was avril livgen. My hubby kept a concert/cd release poster his store had as signage with, a picture of her face...it is not SEXUAL AT ALL. she is in a dark tshirt and her hair is hangiing down over her shoulder....my four year old loves to rock out and is very into the music stuff. he kept a cartoon metallica poster because, they are one cartoons and they are holding guitars and a full drumset...anyways...My hubby was like no he can have the avril poster, because when he saw her his jaw dropped and he was like ''daddy i want to keep that one in my room'' my son asked to have it lower so he can sing to her...I have mixed feelings on this...he is four...is it ok...my innner mom is saying let him sing to the poster who cares...i dont honestly know what is making me feel this is age not ok...what do you have for opinions on the matter?
updated: Avril is a was a teenie booper back when this was out. so not sexual at all....not at all. its just the other stuff on their walls is VERY BOY this seems to be hitting a new growing point for him and I.
he can keep it!! thank you ladies. it was one of those ahh i dont know...but he thinks she cute...he wants to sing to her....he is my rockin' out guy..so he gets to keeper:)
I can't imagine why it wouldn't be just fine for him to have ot in his room!
Can you/he hang it in another room? I'm not sure I would feel ok with it in my sons room...but then what's the difference between that and my daughter (almost 6) brought home Justin Bieber book?... I let her keep the book...not thrilled about it either.
oooo such a catchy two way sword...sorry I'm no help.
That is so cute!! Make sure to videotape him singing to the poster so you will always have that memory of him (and so he can see it when he's older). :-)
LOL Just have to say I think its Adorable :-) What a cutie - wanting it 'lower' so He can sing to her!!! haha no harm !!
Did you ask him why he likes the poster? Maybe he's in awe that there's a girl rock singer? I don't think there's any harm in letting him sing to her at night. He's 4 and you might find that after a few nights, he'll be over it. It's just the way kids are. By making a bigger deal out of it then necessary, you might cause more harm than good. Although, I don't know if I'd let him listen to some of her music ;)
A.B.--Avril Lavigne is a punk rock singer.
Maybe the confusion is because it is "avril lavigne"....I wouldn't think it was a big deal if he likes the poster.
