Jiminey the Cricket. My daughter sells fundraisers for her show troupe for dance, we sell those because we NEED to. It is VERY expensive to be in a dance show troupe and we need this to help off set the cost. So she was the TOP seller at $834 worth of sales. AWESOME! Now my 1st grade son brought home the same fundraiser. I know my family will buy from him, and we will buy from him, but how do I ask my same friends to buy from him?? Or do I just stick with the people I know will support his?

I don't normally do school fundraisers, but the kid was SO excited to have the same fundraiser because he saw how easy it was for his sister to sell it. I can't break his little heart and not try.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I actually ended up with a few people who want more of the yummy stuff! I was shocked. He was happy with the four names I rattled off...so we're good! Thanks!

Don't burn friend bridges with fundraisers. It's a slippery slope sometimes.

Is there another fundraiser for his school that is coming up soon? I'd rather pursue another one versus asking the same people to buy the same stuff. If your kid's school is like mine, they come home with a different fundraiser once a month. Just explain to him his chances might be better with a different fundraiser if he's planning to ask the same family and friends. Good luck - that's a tough break for your son.

Personally, I would not want to buy the same fundraiser again....just have your family buy. It's not that big of a deal how much he sells, right?

I would not ask the same people to buy, unless they are the kind who are super excited to buy something and are looking forward to it. I would also explain to your son that you focused on his sister's fundraiser because her program really needed the money, and he won't likely get the same results as her due to the timing.

Hi, Mom:

Tell the children that they will have to work together
to sell the Jiminey the Cricket stuff and divide the sales.

It is not fair to ask folks to buy from two children.
Just my thoughts.
