Maroon Five's - Moves Like Jagger
Adam Levine w/ Gym Class Heros- Stereo Hearts
I gues you can see a pattern here!
For me the latest is Willie Nelsons cover of Coldplay's the Scientist. I like the song anyway, but this is beautiful! Before that was Mumford and Sons "The Cave"
I like music but sometimes a song grips me and becomes an obsession. This is it for now!
Would love to hear if others get this way....after I go and hit replay ;-).
I love "Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros!" My daughter sings it with me even though she says she doesn't really like it ;-). I could comment on so many but I need to get to work! Keep them coming! Maybe I'll make my own playlist based on Mamapedia suggestions ;-) That would be fun!

Stevie Nicks--Secret Love
Even the 4.5 year old will sing with me.
HE on the other hand LOVES music from "Phineas and Ferb." Right now he loves "Where's Perry" and "Summertime." He's not even in the car and I've caught myself listening to it.
Not really new songs some are old but faves
1. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - Home. I love this song.
2. I Go Back - Kenny Chesney
3. Stuck Like Glue - Sugarland
And many more. I do not listen to just one genre of music. My iPod looks like it could be from 20 different people.
ADELE : Someone like you.
I NEVER do this (aka 'discover' people ahead of the curve... I'm the chick who falls in love with Billie Holiday at 16, or Led Zepplin at 20). So I'm watching Secret Diary of a London Callgirl and this SONG just grabs me. So I blast my ears to hear the lyrics over the dialogue, and google them, and find Adele.
She started winning awards left and right about 2 weeks later. Hahahahahaha! I was the first of EVERYONE I know personally to listen to her, and got them hooked.
Love, love, love.
Adele. I love her voice. Check out her song "someone like you". Love it. Bluesy, jazzy, a little screechy...sounds great. I got her CD and loved "Rumour has it" also. More upbeat.

@ Margie
That's Taylor Swift's "You Belong to Me"
Been rocking out to Death Cab for Cutie's "I Will Possess Your Heart" over the weekend. Love that tune!
If you like that i bet you'd love Johnny Cash's version of NIN's "hurt"--------its really cool
last song that really caught my attention........hmmm
"Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros"......"home".......its really popular on a commercial right now. its new mexico blues
There is a song I heard while going to the grocery store, maybe 2 years ago. I have no idea who sings it but man is it catchy.
She wears short skirts, I wear sneakers,
She's team captain and I'm in the bleachers....
THat and the first time I heard Christmas Shoes, and Cinderella by Stephen Curtis Chapman (I think)
:o) Oh Thank you Stephanie, I'm much better recognizing songs from the late 70's and early 80's.
And my son got in the car the other day and asked if we could listen to "that traveling song cd" He says you know the country cd. I do not listen to country except for Kenny Rogers and John Denver. He wanted Rocky Mountain High and Country Roads.
I'm Soooooooo out of the loop with music right now. I'm a slave to old fashioned radio and "hits" in the car pretty much and other than that, I'm too busy to seek out the new... My first "ear catcher" in a WHILE since guilty pleasures such as Black Eyed Peas I gotta Feeling type radio mainstream songs is: All The Young Kids With the Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People :) Even my kids sing along....
Foster the People - Pumped up Kicks.
The most recently released song by Adele. I love, love, love it.
Some gave All by Billy Ray Cyrus.
I currently love anything Los Lonely Boys.
Poison and Wine by The Civil Wars.
Absolutely anything that Adele sings!
Right now its "Someone like you" by Adele
I cannot get enough of this song
My DIL sent me a vid of my 3yr old granddaughter singing "Paper Roses", so it's been stuck in my head for a few days now.
I was watching the movie Holy Rollers on Netflix one morning while jogging on my treadmill and the movie ended with a song called Darkest Before the Dawn by a group I had never heard of. Went and looked it up and sure enough, Itunes had it so I had to download it. Not really ever into independent kind of music but this one is a beautiful song.
Jonny Lang's Breakin' Me. I can't get enough of this song! And Rhema Marvanne's cover of Hallelujah. It is my favorite cover of this song and she is only like 8 or 9 years old!!!
We have Kids Bop in the car and my nephew asked if we'd put the Song More on (it's originally by Usher). That song rocks. I never heard it before cause I'm not into that kind of music - but I found myself listening to the Kids Bop version 3 times on my way to work today!!
I love Willie Nelson, my parents were big fans, he's got a great voice!
Pink Moon by Nick Drake
*Heck anything by him really...(Thank you Heath Ledger)
Pumped up kicks by Foster the People
*Just makes me want to dance...& I am puzzled why the airways edit it?
Jeff Bridges': Blue Car.. Check out Josh Rouse: Islands thats a goodie too if you like mumford and sons..
I know exactly what you're talking about.
When it comes to popular music, I'm not in the loop, but I have enough CDs (yes, don't tell me) of various genres to open a store. Yesterday I was playing an album by the Kings Singers called "Chanson d'Amour" - love songs from decades and even centuries ago. They performed Rodgers and Hart's "My Romance" (from the '30s, I think) in an arrangement so absolutely beautiful that I had to stop what I was doing and just LISTEN! Then I had to get a hanky.
weird al's parody "tattoo" of the B.O.B. and bruno mars song "nuthin on you". I like both of them actually. and Cee Lo Green's "F You"
Well, you really have to catch the video to really get the meaning but Pink's "F-in Perfect". When I first saw the video I was brought to tears just knowing that people are treated this way and/or feel this way....hits even harder knowing I am raising a little girl!
Hot Wing off the Rio soundtrack...I find myself secretly listening to it even when my kids are not in the car!!
I love cold play! Fix you is a very special song to me that stops me in my tracks everytime. Someone like you- Adelle gets me to its almost . haunting. The song I think of my husband us tangled up in you by staind. Its wonderful.
**denise! My daughter sings that damn sing all the time but she can't say yellow so I hear black and lello, black and lello, black and lello :)
i am obsessed with the white buffalo ...pretty much anything. audra mae and the newest one is http://youtu.be/4AWRHBHDVlQ i also love
and adele then there is pink glitter in the air.
i hate pumped up shoes song about that kid that kills people. its such a catchy tune...until i looked up the lyrics :( bummer.
Adele - " Hometown Glory" , Brandi Carlilee " The Story" , Jon Heintz "Rain", The Killers "Read my mind"
This rainy Pittsburgh morning after a Steeler loss....Whiz Khalifa...black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow.......
Definitely NOT an obsession, just appropriate for today. :(
Let's Go Pens! LOL
We like several Suglarland songs, too - but the one that got attention was Oo-ioo-oo (that's her name for it!)
What Do You Want From Me and Lover, Lover by Jerrod Nieman (sp?)
How Do You Like Me Now - Toby Keith
plus a few other older ones!
" This is the stuff " by Francesca Battistelli
It's very ME.
Here are the lyrics
"I lost my keys in the great unknown
And call me please 'Cuz I can't find my phone
This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use
45 in a 35
Sirens and fines while I'm running behind
Whoa
This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use
So break me of impatience
Conquer my frustrations
I've got a new appreciation
It's not the end of the world
Oh Oh Oh
This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff
Someone save me
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
And I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use
Oh Oh Oh Oh
This is the stuff You use"
ughhh yesterday i was looking through music with my bf and stumbled across my wedding song, I Do by dashboard confessional, he asked M. to play it so I did, and boy did it bum M. out! The lyrics of that song could make M. cry every time, not for my ex, but b/c that idea of someone saying i'll love you forever is kind of hard to think of
