Ok - so this bugs me to no end - but I have a "friend" on FB (only in FB terms is she a friend - really an acquaintance) and she is constantly posting sex updates on FB. For example - yesterday she had a whole thing about "afternoon delight" and her hubby - umm - gross!!! Sorry - I'm all for healthy sexual appetities and have never turned down a mid week nooner (lol) but I didn't feel the desire to advertise to the whole world on FB that I'd just got it on.
I know I can unsub her (which I have done in the past) but I just think it's kinda over the top and really nasty to constantly post updates about getting it on with your spouse.
THanks all - at least I'm not alone in thinking it's over the top. I don't really want to respond in any way cause we aren't "friends" but I've tried twice to hide her posts - they keep showing up!! LOL - I keep telling my hubby I"m going to respond with "me too - my hubby just rocked my world" or something equally gross. I do think she is a tad insecure - she even posted once about how they did it twice in one day - gag. I just don't want to know these things...

Unfriend her and tell her why. She is very inappropriate, to be honest. Her friends and family don't want to hear about this stuff.
Who does her husband work for? She could get him in trouble with his employer. What ELSE does she say or do that is inappropriate? He should never let her meet his co-workers.
You can tell I disagree with the sex talk on FB, can't you!

The guy that lived across the street from my parents when we moved in (I was in 11th grade) was the same age as me. We are very different people now, not so much then.
While I got pregnant and had my kids early, and an early marriage, I am nore on track than he is with the typical life thing (36 weeks away from my MBA, built and own a home, 3 kids with my husband, and am generally doing well.) He lives in section 8 housing, never got an undergrad, has a son with an ex-gf, and then posted on FB one day about the fact that he had sex twice in one night and it felt great.
I almost vomitted. Really? I just felt like it was so childish and embarrasing for HIM to put that out there.
Who doesn't enjoy that one on one time with their significant other, but to post it anywhere is beyond me.

Sounds to me like she's faking it, pun definitely intended!!! Prob not having as many mid-day quickies as she wants others to believe. Just skip her posts, and move on to more interesting, less offensive posts :-)

Of course it's inappropriate to advertise that on FB, I don't care if "that's just the way you are" or not. You said she's an "acquaintance" and she's constantly posting stuff like this, so why haven't you de-friended her by now and kept it that way?

I agree it is over the top. Really, at least in my opinion, any repetitive posting on any subject gets a bit much. Like in your friends case, you have a good sex life, thanks for sharing, right? I have a friend who when I log on can have ten posts in a row about how much she loves her husband, son, daughter, family, god, her kids school. Yeah got it, don't need to see it ten times a day. Trust me forever burned on my brain!
Sound about right?

Sounds lame to me, hopefully she'll grow out of that and be embarrassed that she ever posted that stuff. Sounds like plain ol' immaturity to me.

Sorry...some things should just be private...My sex life happens to be one thing that I would prefer to keep private. There is just no place for that stuff on facebook.

I say things that might be considered very inappropriate to some. My friends love it because it is just me. I work on the school bus and I often banter back and forth with the kids and some people can not handle it. I am very simple and lighthearted and I am constantly saying off the wall things. Sometimes I say things that I come out totally different then what I planned. I have heard some of my friends say, "C. is just C. and you gotta love her." However, I would not advertise my sex life on facebook. You can block her and no one except you knows anything.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww! Pure disgust.
What I have learned from FB is that most of the time those people who are flaunting their lives are usually miserable and putting up a front.

I agree! That is really in poor taste.
I would make sarcastic comments in reply--something to try to shame her, although that may be difficult.
My little brother occassionally gets out of line on FB, and I have NO problem reprimanding him, or any of the dirty 20 yr old girls he hangs out with.

Another reason why fb annoys me now. I loved when I first got on to it to find old friends and catch up with far away family members.
Now it is like a constant reality show. We are all watching our "friends" day to day lives on our computer screen. We know what they had for dinner, what the kids are doing, where they vacationed, what they watched on t.v and now if they do the hibbity dibbity on lunch break.
I rarely get on fb anymore. I have missed some important news because people post comments now instead of picking up the phone or sending a letter. That is a bad byproduct of fb..the up close and personal contact.
I would just pass over your afternoon delight friend and dismiss it as a gal that needs attention. Annoying? Yes.
Good luck and best wishes!

You can block her updates under your settings so you won't see them on your home page, you'll only see them if you visit her actual profile.
I think once in a while it's fun/funny to post a little something about 'a little something-something', but all the time? Why brag about it? Does she think she's the only one in the world getting laid? That's so lame.

I have called a friend, gotten voicemail and then she called back later and said something to the effect of "sorry could not answer we were busy" or what have you but that is one of my besties!

I am embarassed for her. Just think how many people you are oversharing with. To be honest, I am also nauseated by people's self promoting BS they put on fb. Like a status update "Feeling great today because I just worked out for 2 hours." OK I get it you are bragging to the world about how you work out. You're awesome, thanks.
Or "I am loving my new car" and pic of it. Wow, you are such a joneser.
Or other boring stupid details of people's lives like photos of what they're eating for dinner etc.
I like fb for staying in touch with out of town friends, sharing pics with family members who don't live close etc.

i don't have friends like that on FB. i have friended people from HS who turned out to be real DB's, and once i saw a few of their headlines, they were history. worst she will do is ask you why - and tell her you don't need to hear about her sex life constantly. OR blame it on your kids (if you have kids old enough to read) and tell her that they almost saw her posts and you had enough.

WOW....that is really out there.
I am just blown away that an adult would advertise to the world what her sex life was, I mean I would have a problem with this even if it were a 20 something...I do not think I could just unsubscribe, I think I would have to not associate with this person, even on the net!
