JFF If You Had to Vote Today...

Obama! I really like him. I think he has a good head on his shoulders, and he genuinely cares about people. He really wants programs that will help those who cannot help themselves.

I do not blame him for the economy. I think he has tried to do many, many things to help the economy but isn't fortunate enough to have a Congress that will back him up.

Maybe that's what could change in 2012.

I would vote for Romney. I know Obama hasn't a clue how to get an economy going, time for some hope that Romney does.

Short of Palin for vp, I will not change my mind. :p

Well to address one comment, Obama has accomplished very little good for our country and a whole lot of hate and discontent. I am firmly planted in reality and severely dislike what he has done every step of the way. America was not founded on socialism and I'll be darned if I don't vote to get us back to what we were prior to 2008.

I am not a huge Romney support, but heck, at this point I'd even vote for Hillary to get Obama out. So Romney has my vote, and plenty other regretful previous Obama voters. I just pray it's enough to get him out.

Obama. I can't take seriously a candidate who is so virulently opposed to health care reform when he instituted it in his own state. I also can't vote for a party who claims to want less government involvement in people's lives but wants to legislate the heck out of my uterus and tell people who they can and can't marry.

I voted for Obama in '08. I truly regret it. He has managed to mess things up even more than Bush did.

Obama isn't working. Romney has built companies. I don't like him, really. But I think he'll be better than Obama.

Because my ideal candidate a) doesn't exist and b) wouldn't be electable anyways, my only other choice for a candidate who even remotely reflects my values and ideas of how to build a strong country is Governor Romney.

ETA: There was a time when I thought that President Obama was well-intentioned, but just misguided. I no longer think that. I think he pays lip service to the things that have built our great nation: religious liberty, individual liberty, limited government, capitalism, all the while issuing edicts from various Federal departments to strip us of our freedoms and to concentrate power in the hands of the Federal government. Most likely- Senator Marco Rubio will be Governor Romney's running mate and biden will be fired-with hilary running with oloser.

As has been the case in recent elections...I have to go with who I dislike the least. Just like four years ago, anybody BUT Obama.

Not a race issue but rather the fact that even when I like what he says, I don't feel he's being honest...just paying lip service.

Romney. Obama has to go. I feel like he is pumping everyone with what they want to hear, but either doesn't know how to stand up to the political machine or has his own private agenda. Swinging his support to the gay community was just to romance that particular demographic during this campaign. Total lip service in my opinion.

Also, I just read about RFID (radio frequency identification devices). Apparently they are microchips implanted under the skin of each American citizen that will allow access to your SSN, banking info, medical history and act as a GPS to track one's every move. It is in the Obamacare law that was just passed. Plans to implement it is set for March of next year. Google March 13, 2013 for more information about it. Some even quote scripture from Revelation asking if this is the mark of the beast. Unsettling.

Obama. He may be unpopular right now because our economy is in the tank but I don't blame him for the whole mess at all. We were in a downward spiral since the surplus of the Clinton years but just because we hit bottom during the Obama years doesn't mean the foundation of failure was laid by him.

/EDIT For all those not voting because they say that the president doesn't have any power, one thing the president can do is appoint supreme court judges. If Romney becomes President he will probably get to name at least one person to the Supreme Court before his first term is over. This means that a court that is already made of of five people who think corporations should have rights and free reign on our democracy, could become a court that contains six people that think this way. Any person who isn't a billionaire should consider this enough to want Obama, a president who appointed one judge who voted against the ruling and who publicly spoke out against Citizens United (Corporations are People!), to have the opportunity to appoint more judges to the high court.

Having the supreme court in the grips of corporations just twists my guts, because no matter what they say. Corporations are not people. They are not there to make your life better. They are there to make a buck and keep shareholders happy.

There are a lot of other reasons to vote, but this one seemed like a good enough reason to flagship it. <3

Romney is Obama-Light. However, if we keep the Senate, we will have a REALLY good chance to repeal Obama-care. As Romney will most likely (he's a politician so that makes him a liar, thief and cheat) be the one to NOT veto it. We know that if Obama gets re-elected (God help us all) he won't VETO it.

Gary Johnson, Herman Cain, Ron Paul...all good candidates with plans...sad that Johnson didn't get the time he deserved.

Ron Paul scares the living bejesus out of the LEFT. He truly is NOT a politician - as he's never been able to be bought or swayed - that's why the left doesn't like him. And he TRULY wants the Constitution to be upheld and followed!!!

So the lesser of two evils - Romney. Sad to say. Not the best candidate. The powers that be that and media didn't really allow we the people to have a say in vetting the candidates.

In all honesty, I'm not sure any elected president would have the ability to change things for the better. It's much easier to screw things up, than to successfully clean up a decades old mess. Our system is incredibly dysfunctional at this point. A new president being elected (without complete social shift) is sort of like putting baking soda on a bucket of rotting meat, and thinking the smell will go away.

I DO hope we'll see public healthcare in the near future. (I mean, I know it's scary. First comes the healthcare and then what NEXT?! Public roads? Public schools? Public...parks? If we're not careful...we'll end up using the metric system, (i.e. the socialist numerical language)) ;-)

You know, there's this rock in my backyard...it's looking better and better every day. I just don't like it's foreign policy.

If it were today, I'd vote for Obama. I'm with Queen of the Castle-- my dream candidate isn't on the ballot. Admittedly, I'm disappointed with some of Obama's decisions in office, but also know that politicians are politicians and have to make hard choices. And nothing personal about Romney, but I'm pretty far left of Obama politically.

Obama - although I am a bit disappointed I can't STAND Romney...can't let him in office!

Romney has my vote.

I don't like either option and won't be responsible for putting either of them in office. So not voting.

And to quote Douglas Adams: "any man who is capable of getting himself elected president should be no means be allowed to do the job."

If I had to, which I am not planning on doing. I would vote Obama. Let's be realistic, the president holds minimal power. The power sits in the house and senate, if you don't like the way politics is going kick them all out and start all over again.

I am a democrat, I don't always vote that way, but even I can't blame all of our countries mess on Bush. Maybe we should get rid of party lines and just elect people, so we can stop all of the BS.

To be honest, I can't stand either one of them, so I do not plan to vote. If you really want things to change, it's not going to happen at the hands of the lesser of two idiots. President really doesn't have as much power as people give him credit for.

I honestly wish I could say with certainty. I detest Mittens, that's for sure. It's likely going to come down to who has the best rhetoric, even knowing it's nothing but rhetoric.

Obama, and I actually didn't vote for him the first time! I listened to an interview on how bad it will be for our country if we don't re-elect Obama and it made a lot of sense! Plus, if Romney get elected the whole healthcare thing will go out the window, I have a preexisiting condition that makes me ineligible for insurance, so I am praying that next year when the law goes into effect it will stick, or atleast that part of it!
