JFF: If You Could Move Anywhere in the World Where Would It Be?

Curious to see where you would move your family to and why. If I could take my son somewhere it would be England. I have always wanted to go to England and from there I know I can jump on a plane and go just about anywhere in Europe. Plus it would be a good learning experience for my son as well as myself.

Where would you ladies move to?

What can I do next?

Somewhere with actual seasons, not just hot and hotter (Houston). My wife studied in England and always talks about living there. Someday maybe....

United States of America.

I have lived in Taiwan, Belgium and Germany - while I loved something about each place - I couldn't wait to get back HOME.

I would TRAVEL to other countries. But I can't think of any place I'd rather live than the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

I know I'm crazy, but Canada. I love snow and winter; I hate hot weather. I'd be happy with winter 10 months out of the year. And, I just feel like a Canadian. I'm shy, I'm polite, je parle francais. From childhood (Anne of Green Gables) to adulthood (the Shipping News), I've felt a literary connection to the Canadian Maritimes. I'd have to get used to hockey and meters, kilos, and all that, but I could handle it. Politically I'd fit right in.

There are lots of places I would love to visit, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere but Canada. I love it here, even when it is cold and snowy. If I had to live somewhere else I suppose I would choose a Scandinavian country because of the politics. I would love to visit Ireland, Greece, and any place tropical.

Southern CA - just for the weather. I would have to find the one town that was not super liberal though.

No matter where it is, I am of the sort, that would want to live 6 months in one place and then, 6 months in another. Having the luxury to have homes in 2 countries to go back and forth to and from.
Europe is nice, each country is very different from the other.

I would also pick England. Since I was a little girl, I've wanted to live there. Unfortunately, I've never even been able to visit (other than a brief layover en route to Helsinki, Finland). But without even seeing it, I know I'd love to live there. It will be the first place I visit once my kids are older and I have more time and money for travel.

I like living in Florida. You can't beat the weather. I've been to Scotland and England and they are amazing places but get very cold in the winter. The people there are amazing. I lived on Long Island and love it and miss it but I think to use to florida weather. Oregon was my most favorite vacation. I've visited Chicago and it is definitely the windy city. I want to do more traveling than moving. Maybe one of these years I'll be financially sound again and be able to travel. I'd love to see Maine, revisit Oregeon and NY, take the scenic route up Cali's coast.

If I could go anywhere in the world to live that would mean I had the means to do so. SO....I would live on a cruise ship that was part of a multi ship line so we could swap onto another boat at any time and not only see the world but also spend time together doing stuff that was totally fun.

Next choice would be the City At Sea. Where you buy your apartment on the ship and then the owners meetings you can influence the group to go to someplace you've never been.

Someplace warm!!! I'm soooooooooo tired of being cold all the time!!! I've been all over the US and would love to some day settle in California. I love the ocean and coastline out there; better than in Florida. I have no desire to go anywhere overseas other than just to visit. Would love to visit Polebrook, England to see where my Daddy was stationed during WWII but other than that, wouldn't ever want to live there.

Fun question!!

Is it okay if I just stay home? I have traveled abroad and loved the vacation, but knew when it was time to come home because my heart started to feel heavy.

We moved to Arizona for 6 months and when we came back for a visit, we stayed. I mean, I drove back and quit our jobs while hubby went to work. We found that we missed our ability to eat at any time of the night, if we chose to do so. As well, I felt so much comfort in those beautiful mountains surrounding me all the way around.

I know a lot of people feel this is no place to raise a family, but really we live tucked away against a mountain and only see the night-life when we choose to go down there.

I know there are many beautiful countries, including our own, but I have fallen in love with this desert we call home.

Ive been to every continent except Asia and Antarctica, and am a native southern californian. the only places I've ever visited that could possibly pull me away from San Diego are Queensland, Australia or any island in Hawaii. I don't think i would last on a small island very long so Hawaii would have to be a vacation home! We were in Queensland for part of our honeymoon and I told my husband if I ever had to move internationally, that's where I would want to go-- people are so friendly, weather is beautiful, you have the Great Barrier Reef ( well for at least 20 more years before pollution completely destroys it), you have the conveniences of a big city with the pleasantries of a small town. I love where I live and am so blessed to be here! Coastal town, ocean view, friendly people, amazing weather, low crime, amazing community, and we are not super liberal (as one poster was worried about)! But don't move here---or the traffic will negate everything!
