What is the very first thing you do when you wake up?

I get up and drink 12 oz of water to clean out my system. Then I take two 500 mg aspirins to quell my arthritis a joint problem that has persisted since I was 12 years old.
Twenty minutes after the aspirin I do yoga. A habit of 30 years duration in my life.
Put on my glasses and my houseslippers, or I'd be blind with cold tootsies.
Then snuggle up in Kiddo's bed with him for a few minutes. Mmmm.
Honestly? Work on the eternal morning question: Is life really worth living?
((I am NOT a morning person. Doesn't matter how delicious or delightful the day in front of me is planned to be, or who is in it. Every morning my first thought is "I hate life". Which people who have slept with me -not necessarily sex- ANYONE who has seen me in the first 30 minutes or so of waking; military, camping, shared vacations, siblings, etc- can attest to. It's a running joke amongst my friends/loved ones... because I'm this ridiculously cheerful person. I sleep with a smile on my face, I walk around all day with a grin to broad smile/ laugh. But mornings really do suck. Doesn't matter if I've slept for 2 hours or 12. First thought is "I hate life." or "This living thing is overrated."))
Takes me about 30 minutes of stumbling around apologizing to furniture I've bumped into (I can't tell the difference between people and furniture when I've just woken up), and mainlining caffeine, and heading outside in my PJs, and working on the VERY serious decision of whether or not to partake in this whole 'life' thing. I'm not joking. This is not metaphorical.
The only time this is NOT the case is when I'm woken up in the middle of the night (like by a baby or child) or any time I've woken up in an emergency. Pure adrenaline negates the response.
Brush my teeth. I can't stand morning breath!
Say a prayer of thanks for waking up - asking for guidance throughout my day.
Then I go to the bathroom - brush my hair and my teeth.
I usually take a shower after I get the boys on the bus!
Pray and thank God I was able to wake up!
Get dressed and fix my hair before emerging from my room. It makes me feel awake. I don't dare run around the house in my bathrobe. A couple days ago there was a loud knock on the front door about 10 minutes after I got up. It was my son's robotics team, showing up to work on their robot. They said they called ahead but no one answered so they decided to just come on over. My son had forgotten about the meeting and was still asleep. Thank goodness I was up and dressed!
I drink a lot of water. I really need it too!
Dawn
Pee!
Work days:
Then brush my teeth, shower, make up & hair, get dressed.
Home days:
Brush teeth & hair & get dressed to the shoes. (I hate being in PJ's or robe, I always get dressed first thing.)
go to the bathroom. then wash face to wake up....
Put my glasses on, grab my PJ pants from the floor (I don't wear them to sleep but I put them on whenever I get out of bed) and slip those and my slippers on. Nothing else from that point on stays the same order.Nurse the baby, go pee, get the coffee going are some of the first things afterwards. Depends on which kid woke me and how good a mood they wake up in. It's rare I'm awake before at least one of the kids wakes me up in the morning.
Roll over and slap my alarm clock and go back to sleep for 9 minutes :) Then I get up, go to the bathroom and stumble around until I find my glasses.
Rub my husband, and then rub my dog.
