Tomorrow is our 7 year anniversary. Well, I have ran out of ideas what to do for my hubby. We have a 2.5 year old boy and no baby sitter.. yikes. I still have not gotten comfortable with that idea of a stranger watching my kid while we are out.

Anyway, what do you do for your hubby when it is your Anniversary, or does he do most of the work?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oooh great idea.. and yes, a date night or picnic sounds great... I might go and get some Jack Stacks and a movie.. we have wine...

Get him a card? Cards always end up in the drawer.. If I had a dollar for all the cards we got eachother I'd be rich! LOL.. Should I get him a gift?

We don't get to do date nights anymore so how about something at home

-picnic in the backyard or living room or
- candles everywhere & a nice dinner ordered in
- you can go out to dinner & take the kids. harder but still fun
- I skip the cards because they are thrown away & it's a waste of $
- give each other a massage
- rent a movie to watch together when the kids go to bed
- share a bottle of wine
- the 7 yr anniversary gift is copper/wool for traditional & a desk set for
modern. You could get him a desk set for his ofc desk w/an engraved
note. I did this at a trophy shop for one of our anniversaries. Cheap &
we still have it.

This year we went out to a steakhouse with our daughter. When we came home we just relaxed then put her to bed and watched a movie.
Most of the time I will bake something special. Like cupcakes, cookies, etc. Happy Anniversary!

You can always do something small post little one's bed time and then surprise him in the near future when a babysitter is available. Big fan of the couple's massage!

One of my favorite places is Dean and Deluca. For a couple of anniversaries I've gone there and just loaded up on yummy stuff. They have everything..."real" foods like steak, pork, chicken, etc., salads, dips, and they have seriously delicious desserts too! It is kind of expensive but for an anniversary it's worth it!

How about a picnic at the park? Bring a nice big blanket to sit on, spread it out in easy view of the playground. Enjoy your husband and the sweet baby you have together! Congrats!

In the past we've gone out to dinner when we've had a babysitter (friend or family, never a stranger); I've made his favorite fancy dinner at home when the kids were in bed; I've made his favorite fancy dinner at home and made it a family meal; we've ordered in Chinese take-out when the kids are in bed; he's taken the day off of work so that when the kids are in school we can go out to eat at the restaurant where we were engaged; we've gone on romantic picnics. We usually try to do things together on the day of our anniversary, but it doesn't always work out since his current boss is a scrooge.

Since it sounds like you can't go out, why not plan a "date night" at home. Wait til the little one is asleep, then make a nice dinner (or order in... even better), rent some movies, pop some popcorn and have a bottle of wine. We don't get to do "date nights" out very often, so sometimes we have them at home. Happy Anniversary!
