My Husband is my best friend but I miss the girly gurl BFF that I had with 2 ladies all through high School. I know that we set a standard and people knew we had each other's back. Who is your favorite best friend character or do you have a BFF experience in real life?

My grandma and her sister were BFF they talked on the phone everynight before bed, she fell very ill the last sevral years and was admitted into a nursing home the last 2 years. my grandma with my aunt's husband went to that nursing home everyday to care for her and wld take her clothes home to wash, my aunt passed in 2010.

I love love love a television series that is now off the air called..Soul Food, there were 3 sisters who fought, cried, laughed and still were best friends at the end of everyday.

I love Christina and Merideth on Gray's Anatomony (everyone knows they have each others back) and the Brother and Sisters characters (you just know once you tell one bro or sis they all will know).

What can I do next?

my idea of a best friend has changed over the years. I have had several best friends. I ask in return the same thing I offer, which is I will always be there for you, I don't bs, I won't lie to you (so don't ask me if you look fat or skinny if you don't wanna hear it), I will take care of you, care for you, worry about you, laugh with you and at you, and always wish the best for you.
I want the same thing back. I have gotten it maybe once or twice. One friend is still my best friend, though I see her once in 4-5 years. We are close in age, we had the same taste, we loved each other, and were there always for one another. She was me.
But frankly, I am also my own best friend. I can always rely on myself. I make myself laugh, I debate with myself, and myself never stirs me wrong. I know how it sounds, so don't jump on me, but the life I have had, and things I have had to go through, I wouldn't have been able to if I didn't have me. So, even like nowadays, when I have lots of friends, yet not one best friend nearby, I am ok, not lonely. All I need is my kids and myself.

Unfortunately, I haven't talked to my best friend in about 1 1/2 years. We didn't go to high school together although we lived in the same town. We met at the end of our junior year of high school through a mutual friend. We actually didn't get to be very close until about 3 or 4 years after we graduated. We used to have so, so much fun together. She moved away although she still comes back to visit because her parents still live here. We're both married now and she's got two kids and I have one. I always thought our kids would play together and get to know each other but that's not the case. I feel like I've matured as I've aged and she's just trying to go back in time to her college years. I stopped talking to her because all she ever wants to do when she comes to town is go out to bars, get drunk and meet guys. She's actually even slept with at least two guys, that I know of, and kissed several more and I just don't think that's right considering she's married. She would always mention getting the kids together to play the next day but we never did because she was always too hung over. At this age I'm looking for a friend that I can just hang out with and maybe go to dinner and the movies - not out to bars trying to hook up. My hubby and my mom are my best friends, and always will be, but I really miss having a close friend to talk to.

I am graced with several friends I consider BFF's. Each one of them possess traits that I both admire and adore.

My Barbie friend (aka Stacey) She is my fun pal... the person I know I will have fun with no matter what... even when the fun is a little riskier than I would like. She keeps me young and on my toes. We have been friends since kindergarten... (We are Thelma and Louise!!!)

My Sound friend - (aka Kelly) She is my married with 2 kids friend... very family oriented, always up for fun, but hesitant fun. We gab on the phone for hours, and have know each other since we were 12 (We are like Lynette and Gabie (Desperate housewives)

My go to friend (aka Leah) She is the dramatic friend who does local theater in an attempt to fence in her free spirit and dramatics. She is the karaoke queen, the funny girl, the yin to my yang.... We are like Connie and Carla

Above all, My mother continues to be the one person I know I can always turn to, for anything, good or bad, with no judgement, no criticism, and most of all, even if she doesn;t have the answer, she always has a hug and comfort. People think it is strange that I can smell her. I know babies can smell their moms, and somehow I held on to that smell as my comfort... whenever I have a day when I feel like pulling my hair out and crawling into bed... I wear a nightshirt that I stole from her years ago... and no matter how many times I wash that shirt, her smell is still there and it makes me feel wrapped up in her hugs even when she isn't there.... Now that is what I call a good friend!

my best girl friend and someone that is forever my family is someone i met in third grade. turns out she moved directly down my parents street. we were bfffff, HS came around we, both got into different things/groups. after graduation, she went to school and traveled doing alot of mission work. I was busy catching up on partying and boys by this point(i spent all my young life dancing. six days a week. six hours a day after school and then saturdays all days) So i was going nuts while she was around the world. Her biggest accomplishments being: Hondarous(?spelling),the Congo for a very long time and many many more places. When she came home from the congo I had gotten married and had a baby. All of a sudden bam back to where we were like we never had our break. She was with me by my side through two births, she is my kids godmom. She now is a foster mom and a great one at that to a littleboy. She is my hope and inspiration. she does so much for her community and tribe ( she is native american). I love her and wouldnt live my great life without her.

I am of course bfff with my hubby. he is my rock of sanity when i feel insane.

I have two guy friend that have been dubbed honorary uncles to my kids. they are amazing. and love them as if they were their own/

I have been bless so blessed when it comes to the people in my life. We maynot have a alot in our bank account but we do inour love and family and friends accounts....cheezy i know.

I want to be Pam and Jims friend on the office. actually I would love to just work in their''office'' for a week. i would come home thinner from laughing and my face muscles stuck in the laughing formation.

My favorite best friend characters are Sheldon and Leonard on Big Bang Theory and Barney and Marshall on How I met your mother - not a big fan of Teds. He's not as funny.

My best friend is my 18 yr old daughter. She gets all my jokes and knows all the history, so I don't have to go into a lot of back story to tell her a story. She isn't demanding on my time and never asks for anything but advice and recipies. We love to cook together. I know she always has my best interest at heart and has no agenda of her own when giving me advice. Yes, I take advice form my 18 yr old. Teenagers have a way of seeing the world in black and white and dont bring allot of baggage or prejudice into a conversation. I've had female besties all my life, but our lives change, (babies, husbands, location) and when our paths don't run congruent anymore, those relationships fade into the mist.

Personally, I guess I don't watch a ton of sitcoms, but I do like the relationship House and Wilson share on House. :)

I miss having a girl best friend, too...you are not alone...and for me, too, my husband is my best friend. :)

Oddly enough, my mother-in-law is probably the next best thing these days...and there is another woman at church that I really, really get along with and we sit together every Sunday and occasionally get together, but we live in separate towns so it doesn't happen too often. :(

My best friend in the world is the absolute polar opposite of me- I love her to death, she is my kids "aunt" I am the guardian of her cat- who hates me- we can talk for hours or not for weeks but I love her everyday. Honestly we remind me of Ouiser and Clairee in Steel Magnolias. We have a pact if one of us dies the other has to promise at least one wail and casket jump. I know it sounds twisted but that is how our friendship is
My other best friend is my sister she is the one I call when the world no longer makes sense.

In addition to my husband, I have three best friends. Though not in a SATC way.

One is from elementary school and is the type of friend to call me on my bs. We always joke that she doesn't like children (she doesn't have any) and that I forced her to like mine because she's their godmother. Even though she's a thousand miles away she jumped on a plane the second I thought I was in labor with DD and hung around my house for three more weeks until I actually gave birth. If anything happened to my husband or I she would be on a plane in an instant.

My second friend was the first friend I made as an adult. Both our hubbys were deployed and somehow we clicked and have talked almost every day for the past six years. Our kids are a few months apart from each other and I can call her for anything.

My third best friend is a new friend, but its awesome to have some to call and say "I'm coming up with a bottle of wine and we're watching Vampire Diaries." She reminds me of who I was before I got married and had kids and I love feeling like me again. I know that of all the people we've met here she will be the one person I will still talk to once we move (again!).

I love the Meredith/Christina relationship, and aside from the sexual tension, the Castle/Becket friendship on Castle and the Boothe/Brennan relationship on Bones-- the level of trust and understanding and truly knowing who that person is.

I miss my BFFs SO much! I have 2 from middle/high school, 2 from college, and one from each of the 2 previous places my husband's work has taken me. I have spent the past 6 years moving every 2 years for my husband's work (We will be here another 2 years). So I rarely see my girls. Sadly I have not connected with another woman in this new area... yet. I thought it was easy to make friends when you have a child! :o)
