Is There an App or Website Where School Parents Can "Chat"?

Hi, so a few parents and I want to stay in contact and have play dates with the kids during the summer. We've thought of just texting/emailing/calling each other but I was wondering if there's a website or app that we can join and chat to plan our activities.
Just curious.

Thanks in advance

Yep I agree with ReverendRuby...perfect use of FB. Someone can create a group page that those who want to participate can join. You can make it closed (an administrator or fellow page member can approve requests to join) so the whole world can't see what you're planning and talking about.

I think snapfish or shutterfly used to have a social media component but honestly, it's not as simple and seamless as FB.

I'm a member of a few Facebook groups with people I do things with. It would be easy to start one for playgroup purposes.

Are you wanting to chat in real time?
You might try chat.parachat.com and set one up.

Facebook would work for that.
Although I've never had any urge what so ever to stay in contact with anyone school related over the summer.
Everyone has always gone off in their own directions - vacations, traveling, grand parents trips, summer camp, etc.
It's always been 'see you next September!' and then that's it!

Do a closed group on Facebook. That would probably be the easiest unless there are members who aren't on Facebook. Then group texts would probably be easiest.

Facebook...either group chats or create a secret/private group. I have one for carpools, for playdate friends, for our moms Bunco group, etc. Very easy to set up.

Google Hangouts will let multiple people join in on one chat and send messages, it works like a chatroom would, so it works in real time.
