Is Our Weeble Village Fixable?

My older son spent many many hours playing with his Weeble Village that he got for Christmas when he was two. By the time his brother came along, it wasn't spinning very well. I've taken it apart and cleaned the inside, which had dust bunnies and seemed a little dirty/greasy, which seemed to help for a little while. But it doesn't help any more. It just doesn't spin well enough to really play with, though it still plays the music and spins half heartedly, even with fresh batteries. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it just worn out after 4 years? Does it need to be greased inside (maybe WD-40) to spin more easily? It takes up a lot of space, so maybe it's time to just get rid of it.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I emailed the company and they wrote back that they had no trouble shooting for that item. Bummer! I guess it's had its day!

I would try contacting the company. Search for the website and ask them. They might be able to recommend a fix for it.

I would email the company and ask if they will replace it for a small fee and getting the other back, or if they will fix it. Fisher price will do that if they can.

Call or email the company, maybe they will give you another part. I wouldn't use WD40 just b/c it may get on their hands and in their mouth, plus the smell is pretty strong.

Hi B.. Ours stopped spinning a few months after we got it as well. I have a friend that has one and same thing happened to theirs. It must be a product defect. I have no idea if it is fixable though. My kids still play with it so I don't really think about it anymore (definitely an annoyance though). If you figure out a solution, please post. Good luck!
