Hi,
When I got my new washer and dryer the service guy told me not to use liquid softener in the washer as its not good for them. So I switched to dryer sheets and everything is soft and smells great.
I had to have the most expensive washer and dryer. Yes, silly I know. I'm paying the price for it now because I hate it. I have a Kenmore HE front loader and the problem I have is that my clothes get all twisted up. They hardly ever smell like fabric softener. One time they twisted up so bad that it ripped the rubber ring out and was stuck in my clothes. I did have it fixed. My clothes are always twisted and I have to pull them all out and I drop most of them on the floor. Then untwist everything before I can put them in the dryer. Why don't they smell like fabric softener? I always use extra and that only works sometime. I learned my lesson. I wish I had a top loader.
Anyone else have this problem? Any advice? Thanks

Hi D.,
We went from a front load to top load. I couldn't stand the front loads. My issues were that the clothes never seemed to come out clean and if you forgot to wipe down the door and run it through a bleach rinse cycle, the doors got moldy and the clothes started to smell. I just found that I was doing more work on top of the laundry so I was MORE THEN HAPPY when our washer leaked and we got a new top load.
Good Luck,
K. :~)
Nope-- we have a Duet and love it. Call the company, something sounds like it is messed up with your washer. Good luck!
Mine does the same thing. That and we always will lost a sock or two under the rubber ring. My daughters actually went through the drain and we had to have them come out and fix it. The fabric softner problem I encountered as well. I found that I couldn't use a generic otherwise it "washed" it right out. Then I could't mix gain detergent or downey because it made my clothes smell bad and it won't come out. So we ended up with tide and downey and that works great! The twiting I have no idea. I just stopped untwisting and put it all in the dryer that way and it comes out on it's own. I dont' have the same washer as you so I think it is just because of the spin being so fast. Hey maybe we should try a slower spin?
I wonder if you're loading the washer with too many clothing articles. I realize the front loaders can take more, but try doing fewer articles and see if you have the problem.

So sorry to hear this never had this problem and just love my front load washer. I would contact the company that makes Kenmore and ask about this problem. I have an Amana and have never had a problem. The clothes should just be flopping over so they can rub together. How do they get all twisted? Is the washer switch directions every minute or so or is it going in one direction to long?
As far as the fabric softener is concerned it sounds like it is letting the softener out to early and it is getting washer away.
Just an idea.

We have a front loader and it only twists if its big sheets. Otherwise, try setting the level to medium to slow spin. Our LG makes so much noise and shakes the area at high speed, we never use that speed. Maybe that helps.
D., I also have a Kenmore front load washer and I love it. It has never twisted my clothes and the clothes do smell and feel great with my softner. I think your machine is malfunctioning. I would try and get a new machine, hopefully it's still under warranty. Good Luck! S.
I have a new top load. I did a lot of research on front loads vs. top loads, and what you're experiencing is one reason I did not buy a front load. I read that the clothes will get all twisted & very wrinkly simply b/c the machine is spinning so fast. Any salesman I asked about this just said to put the clothes in the dryer right away to get the wrinkles out. I hope you get the problem fixed. I like how they look, but thought they still needed to work out some kinks. I have a few friends w/ front loads, & the only one who likes it is the friend who go the super top of the line...I don't remember the brand, but was ridiculously expensive.
Hi D.,
I also have the Kenmore front loader and I love it. I don't have any issues with my fabric softener dispensing. The clothes come out smelling great. And no problems twisting either. Except maybe for bed sheets which tend to get a little twisted, but nothing that I would consider a problem. I just shake them out when I move them to the dryer. All in all, I am very happy with my washer. It really does sound like maybe something is not quite right with the way yours is working. Or maybe the cycle that you are using? I primarily use the normal/casual, whitest whites, and kids wear cycles. Also, for what it's worth, I had a Maytag Neptune front loader before this and loved that as well, despite some mechanical problems they had. The performance of that machine was excellent also. I would definitely contact Kenmore CS and see what they recommend.
I have the Duet as well and wouldn't trade it in for anything. It definitely sounds like something's wrong with your particular machine.
