If you go to disboards.com they have TONS of info on Disneyland & Disneyworld & thye also have crowd charts, menus, maps, tips, etc. People write Trip Reports and post pictures as well. Those have been very helpful! I've been using it to help plan our vacation but we're still undecided on dates.

It's busier over Winter break than weekends in the summer. We went to Disneyland after Christmas a couple years ago. They maxed out the park and closed the gates at 1pm. We couldn't even walk through the park, just shuffle along with the herd, then wait for hours in the ride lines. Even the fast past lines were 45 min wait and tickets were gone by 10 am. Not the way to spend the day at Disneyland!

It's a friggin zoo. You won't even find parking that time of year, unless you are there before they open. So unless you love crowds every step of the way, probably best to avoid. Sorry.

The last few times we tried to go on New Years Day, we had to turn around in the parking lot and leave.

To find Disney land or Disney world NOT busy, you have to go when the school is in session.

When I lived in Arkansas, the school our kids were in let the kids out for the first two days of deer season (the second monday and tuesday in November). So we took the entire week off and went to Disney world. We were able to wait less than 5 minutes for Space Mountain. As were getting off the ride we decided to go again. So we walked down the exit ramp and back up the entrance ramp. When we got to the where they put you on the ride, the people in front of us were just being buckled in. We walked to the next car and got in and away we went. No wait at all.

I hope you have lots of fun. Good luck to you and yours.

Very, very busy. We have had passes forever and still go though. It's better than being home.

Not sure about LA, but in Orlando, it's crazy busy at that time. Too busy!

Yes, New Years is one of the busiest days of the entire year. That whole week is pretty busy, since every school here will still be on break. People with the lower level season passes are blacked out during that time, so that is usually a good indicator of when the park will be the most busy. Sometimes they sell out and won't let anyone else into the park. I don't recommend going during that week at all.

WE go at the end of Jn/eraly feb and its not too bad at all. Risky weather though so if you want to swim you should book in the spring.

Of course, it's busy then. School is out. Years ago I went to Disneyland during spring break and it was packed. I still had a good time but lines were long.
