B..
It was great! Everybody together, food was good. Watched the Hobbit, blue ray, extended version, well, they did! It was still nice.
A little sadness. Lost my mom 9 yrs ago, yesterday. I'll see her again, but I miss her.
No new questions for 10 hours... Is this a record? Lol.
I'm aware that it is a holiday, but usually there are a few questions.
Just wanted to make sure you are all still out there, and the turkey zombie apocalypse hasn't begun...
;)
So how was your Thanksgiving? Mine was pretty good, except for the suffering I a. Now going through from over-indulging.

Great day. So good to have my family together. My favorite part is that my kids have finally matured, and they are a joy to be with.
I am here...and ready for sleep.
I was happy with this 'turkey' day! We honored pete with both laughter and tears. The food was good (community effort)...and the scrabble was good too.
No zombie's here...except me...as I try for some sleep!
best!
other than the natural sadness that goes with the 'year of firsts' (our first thanksgiving without little mumsie) it was very nice. my husband's family came over, both kids made it home, and i roped in 2 out of 4 brothers and a couple of sweet nieces. food came out fabulous, and the clean-up is done.
good stuff!
hope you all had a great holiday too, dears.

I was on during the day early and not much activity. My neighbor called us and wanted to know where we were for dinner. I thought dinner would be at 4 but he called at about 3. Apple pies were in the oven and turned them off and went to eat. Pies were perfect when we got home.
The dinner was a potluck with a smoked turkey. All was great and good company. We walked back to house slowly and full.
We didn't have crossed eyes or overstuffed bodies.
Now I am thinking of braving going out to the stores this morning for sewing items to finish them for my vendor booth in the shop. It's a good thing I love to sew and do marathon sewing on weekends.
Have a great weekend to you all.

LOL! I'm SO tired! Ten people plus a toddler and a baby and a huge meal, sangria, wine and champagne. HUGE mess in the kitchen, dirty dishes everywhere - at least I put the food away! I don't know when I'm going to actually clean the kitchen! I have my feet up on the couch, and here you are!
I did report another robo spammer answer! Even THAT doesn't seem to stop on a holiday, does it!!
Good luck on getting over the over-indulging!
Having celebrated earlier this week with family, today was a quiet day with just my immediate 5. No big cooking or hosting.
Ended up sorting the kids' jackets to figure out who fits what and watching TV and generally hanging out. Exciting! LOL
It was quite different than our normal parade, big family turkey dinner then football day. Saw an ad to volunteer for an organization called The 25th Project, asked hubby if he didnt mind going. We went & brought the girls & toddler to church, brought a huge pan of real mashed potatoes ;) The volunteers helped make 203 to go boxes of food then other volunteers boxed up desserts & all got sorted into cars. Two different caravans went to two homeless camps in Woodbridge. We handed out food, met some new people then went to DC & handed out food & boxes desserts. The next stop was a shelter then handed out the rest of the desserts & to go boxes back in VA. Ended up making fried chicken for dinner b/c that what the kids wanted and talking about all that has happened in the last year etc. It was a great time of reflecting, a lovely quiet evening. I think my middle daughter learned a lot and said she definately wants to volunteer Christmas Day and next Thanksgiving. She said in the car ride," Handing out the food makes my heart sing." Mine too! It helped us all not miss MIL & our uncle Robert & great gramma & my gramma L as much b/c we kept busy..

Funny!! I was in bed by 9PM and asleep by 915, I think. I tried to read and couldn't...
Thanksgiving was very nice - very quiet...just my boys, husband, our nephew and dogs...
The food was great! The conversation was lively! Lots of laughter!
Everyone is stuffed - the leftovers have been put away - my rainbow jello dessert was fantastic - the dishes/pots/pans have been washed and put away.
It's been a wonderful holiday so far!
When you posted this, I was at our friends home, finishing up a glass of Sangiovese, stuffed to the gills with portabello risotto, an outstanding butternut squash soup (did not want to ever stop eating it), a salad I'd brought that many of you had chimed in on and given advice for (Thanks! It was a total success!), and so much more. I didn't even touch dessert, which was an amazing layered pumpkin parfait (think pumpkin mousse, but lighter, whipped cream, and crumbled ginger cookies...) -- just full enough without paying for it later.
Yesterday was very nice-- had a Thanksgiving which was a foodie's dream, saw lovely people there-- it was great to reconnect with some of them. I'd brought some activities to do with Kiddo, so I enjoyed that as well. And when I finally got into bed, Midsomer Murders was on. For me,a perfect way to end a perfect day.
