Like someone else said, a lot of mine come from doing (stupid) things with the kids or because they did something and I over react to it. Like the time my daughter went face first into the dirt at the end of the slide. I was on top of the playground equipment thingie and didn't think a thing about jumping straight off it to get to her. Really wrenched my back on that less than Olympic 10.0 landing.
When my son was barely a year old he got on his cousins battery operated 4-wheeler and started riding it straight down a steep ,wooded hill at my parent's house. Apparently I dived right after him and somehow managed to grab onto the back of the 4-wheeler and slow it down right as he hit a tree head on. Honestly, I don't really remember even acting on that one, so I'm not sure what I did. I did have multiple scratches, scrapes and bruises for a few days afterwards.
My son has given me bloody noses and black eyes from slamming the back of his head into my face when he was sitting on my lap.
My daughter went to jump into my arms and misjudged the distance and stuck her finger in my eye. Scratched it and it got infected. That was almost 2 years ago and I still flinch if I forget and rub that eye.
Have to agree with Laeh. Mine are not teens yet ,but I swear my daughter is one in her mind already. She can have quite the mouth if provoked and is learning the "mean" girl talk already!
This didn't happen to me but to a friend of mine. He was delivering some wood to my parent's house for them and my son went running for him and ran straight into his "manly area". He doubled over, lurched a few steps and threw up!
