Hi, R.,
I did some research on Alli because I was thinking of taking it.
What Alli basically does is block your body from absorbing fats.
It's got 1/2 the active ingredient of Orlistat, which is the prescription drug the doctors dispense.
In order to take the Alli properly, you have to modify your diet to make it very low fat.
The side effects of the pill were enough to put me off taking it, to be honest. The website GSK (pill manufacturer) put together says to be sure to bring a change of clothes with you to work because you may experience oily discharge and fecal incontinence.
I'd honestly rather follow a low fat, reduced carbohydrate diet on my own without messing up my pants or having oily stools with stomach cramps. The pills do not guarantee weight loss. The pills only block the fat. It sounds nasty to me.
I plan on signing up for Weight Watchers, myself. It's a sensible diet with good advice that is natural.
Check the website out for yourself, though - and read everything.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
