I'm looking at IKEA children's table and chairs. Does anyone have them? Good, bad? Are the mammut line to light that they tip easily? I wish they were wood not plastic. Thanks I appreciate your reviews.

What can I do next?

We bought a "wood" coffee table from Ikea and the white kids wooden chairs. We trimmed the legs on the coffee table and use it for a kids table/desk. Then we can have more than one kid at the table at a time.

We had the mammut table/chairs in turquoise. My kids broke the table in less than a week. Which is so sad b/c I loved it otherwise, it was adorable, functional, a good size and they really liked it too. However, my kids are big time climbers/jumpers who tend to destroy a lot of things. If yours are fairly calm, then I don't think it would be an issue.

We have the Kritter set, and in general, it's very sturdy, light to move around, dont' tip over very easily. It's painted wood, and the only challenge we've found is that our son recently discovered cleaning & he used "Greenworks" spray on the paint, and it started to remove the paint finish! It hasn't continued to chip or come off, but I was surprised that a simple green cleanser would do this - not sure what other products are ok to use on it. Otherwise, we love these tables & chairs!

We have the plastic table and little plastic stools...
They've been a decent investment.

I have not had luck with the IKEA wooden children's furniture. We had a Kritter chair. We chose it because we wanted it to double as a step stool. Our preschool teacher had the Mammut chairs, which were super cute, but she said they tipped when the kids stood on them. The wood of the Kritter chair split right where one of the screws goes in. We tried glue, drilling a new hole, etc. but finally had to scrap it. We also had the drawing board. It broke in a similar unfixable way. Both items didn't even last a year. Sad, because they are really cute.

My parent bought our son a set from IKEA for their house. It is wood and the table height adjusts and the chairs are blue and red wooden chairs. I am not sure of the name but I think the whole set was around $100.00 for table and 4 chairs. It seems very sturdy and my LO loves to sit at it and play. The Table had a white top with blue or red legs I can't remember.Hope this helps.

we had the red plastic table with 4 chairs.... they clean easily and with a magic eraser everything comes off of them!! once in a while a leg would pop off a chair, but being ikea they pop right back on! no sharp edges or corners, and for the money i thought a really good buy... actually we just phased them out of our kitchen and placed it by the road with a free sign and no kidding GONE in less than 3 minutes watching from the kitchen window... i sorta wish i kept one chair, was easy getting into cabinets lol.

Originally we had the LATT table and chairs. $20 - can't beat it. The paint on the table began coming off after a couple of years so I replaced it with the SVALA table for $20. I did put a varnish coat on the SVALA table to help with cleanup. Even though the LATT is only $20, the chairs are still going strong. I sit in the chair during homework time, and let's just say, I'm not exactly 100 pounds, and we've never had a problem with them.
