My husband is reading over my shoulder and he wants to correct us all...The 5th Anniversary is wood. What every man wants is "Wood!!!". He fears that we've all been mislead and wants to correct it for all the husbands out there. LOL!
Our 5 year anniversary is coming up, and I need some ideas of special gifts... everything I think of is too girly. Any ideas that are sentimental, but still something a man would like?? thanks for your help moms!
--Edit--- We have a 10 month old son, and being a dad is his favorite thing ever. He loves nature, golfing... hiking, that sort of thing...

A weekend at a cabin on the lake and go 4 wheeling!
My husband is a huge sports fan and I am not. I tollerate it, but I'm not super invested like he is.
So, for our anniversary I got him 2 tickets for the Cleveland Browns (I know...what the heck....they suck so bad), one for him and one for me. We went for the weekend, stayed at a hotel spent the day touring the city and went to the game. It was the first one he had ever gone to and the fact that I chose not only to get them for him but experience it with him was VERY romantic for him.
Does your husband have anything he's really into but never would spend the money to do for himself and is it something you can do with him?
Why don't you just ask him what he'd like? My husband and I always tell each other so no one's feelings are hurt if they get something they don't like. Good luck!
Well, 5th traditional is wood, and modern is silverware if that helps---LOL
Actually, we got my husband a willow tree (wooden) sculpture of a father and son, which he really liked......
What about a bride and groom (or husband & wife) willow tree figure?
Or a wooden man-jewelry box for his watches, etc.?
Or a wooden bench for the deck/yard?
A trip to his favorite place to hike or golf comes to mind. You could go, too, and make a romantic weekend out of it. Something my husband did for me that he loved was a couples day at the spa with massages, etc. Although, we usually go the cheap way and do it ourselves at home, it's still fun to go and do it together somewhere. I gave my husband a gift certificate for him and a buddy to go golfing once. He loved that! Hope you come up with some great ideas!
Is there a park/nature center thing nearby that you could get a family membership to? or a zoo?
Something small I got my hubby one year was some massage oils and some nice creamy lotion with a free foot massage coupon attached to it. He loved it! and it was less than $20!
Can you tell us about him, his hobbies, his favorite things?
5th year anniversary is wood, so the wood cabin idea is fun. Or you can get hima wood working bench if he's into that or a wood steering whell for his car, a new "wood" golf club. Like I say, without kmowing anything about him, it's difficult to be helpful.
