OHBOY! Seems like a good chunk of the women around me are currently pregnant! And all I can think of is how I want another! I've been feeling like I wanted a second child for months now, its driving me insane! I want to see my daughter have younger sibling to play with, and I don't want there to be too much of an age difference, shes nearly 2 as is! But this is probably very unreasonable in my current situation so... How do you battle baby cravings?

What can I do next?

Well, if I were a 21 yo divorced mom of a toddler, sleeping with my ex's friend, but living with my ex AND bf in my ex MIL's house with no job and no money, and not an American citizen....

Yeah, that'd be ALL the motivation I need to keep my pants on. Just sayin...

Watching my nephew who had severe colic did it for me. Also, I went out with my friend who had a 3 1/2 year old and a 6 month old. It was complete chaos.
Talking myself down with the realities of my situation, and why it wouldn't be a good idea to have a baby. We have decided on one and I don't have to do that anymore, but that's what worked for me!!

YOu have time on your side. I know it's easy to get caught up in that. However, remind yourself of your current situation. I just read some of your other posts. I think once you are settled financialy and in a stable permanent relationship then that is the time. How is the citizenship process going? Your living arrangements have they changed?

i have no choice anymore, I had a tubal 11 months ago when the twins were born and my husband had a vasectomy a month before that. I do want another from time to time. My oldest was 20 months old when the twin were born, I think that is a good age difference. I miss the good parts of being pregnant, like feeling the baby move, the fun food cravings. I do not miss the all the time hearburn, the all day sickness, the naseau, the back pain, not being comfortable at all. I am now looking forward the the things that I wont have to deal with anymore. coming up soon on no more bottles, the reason for and having to deal with them going away isnt fun but it will be nice to not have to deal with bottles anymore. it was nice getting rid of the baby swings, it will be nice to get rid of the walkers soon.
sorry, i didnt mean to ramble on about me. Just, decide if YOU want another baby because YOU want another child. and if the answer is yes then go for it!

I agree with the first reply! Offer to babysit someone else's kids--especially a baby!

I never wanted to be a mom, until I got pregnant with my son. All of a sudden a fierce protective love emerged along with the desire to reproduce until the end of eternity! lol. Idon't battle it at all-just swept it aside and tried to focus on the present.
Now that we have been ttc for 5 months it is so much harder to ignore the longing-every time aunt flo comes it gets worse. So what am I going to do? Go back to work for a seasonal job and start homeschooling. In other words keep busy and try to find blessings that would be hard to come by if I were pg such as I have lost 5 pounds recently and will continue to lose a few more. I get a full night of rest-no getting up to pee or eat! No huge chest(last time I was a triple E so that was painful-normally a b cup). No diaper bags to pack, I can have as much sex with hubby as I want(too many complications last time) and a long date with hubby without being interrupted to pump!

If you want a baby then go for it. I think if you want more children you should have them. Of course planning for it can take some time but in reality, they don't take much room, they can nurse for food, they do need diapers and some accessories...anyway, it's always good to plan ahead and then the little one is a welcome addition.

Totally normal to want another baby when your little one heads to being a toddler! But with all that is going on in your life right now just hold your horses and know it will pass ;) You are still plenty young enough to have several more children later on and even if you daughter is older when/if you have another, she will be thrilled, she will get to be like a little mommy to her baby sibling. My vote is wait until life, relationships and finances come in order. If you were to have a baby right now, it would probably just really stress you out, even though the baby would be wonderful, would it be a wonderful situation for a little baby to be brought into? Try not to do anything by mistake but really 'on purpose' at this time. If you do find yourself pregnant, we will be here to support you though, and of course it will eventually all work out!!! Best wishes :D
