I Need to Find a 2 Bedroom Apartment

I'm desperate to find a 2 bedroom apartment in Astoria, Long Island City, Sunny Side or even Peekskill (or reasonable commute into NYC via public transportation).
I can not really afford brokers fees. I have a small dog. We have great credit. My husband has a great job. Since I had my daughter in April, I have been laid off, and we are now realizing how "a year in our one bedroom wont be a big deal" really is becoming, a big deal.
Our absolute maximum in 1350 per month. If anybody knows of any 2 bedroom apartment, please let me know. Craigslist apartment listings are a scammers playground and I have wasted so much time with that.

Thanks!!!!

Hi L. -- My family and I moved out of our one-bedroom in Astoria in mid-June. I believe that the landlord has some two-bedrooms. Rather than post his information publically, please email me and I'll respond with his details.

I would suggest either Riverdale or Inwood. Both may offer affordable rents you're looking for with a closer commute (or at least closer than Peekskill). Inwood has a strong community of involved parents and Riverdale is green and quiet. Below is the link for the Riverdale News -- neighborhood local paper. Helpful for locating rentals in the area.

Good luck!

Try checking out what may be available on Craig's list but be smart. If you can't see the apartment itself, no money should ever be exchanged sight unseen. There are some scammers out there. Often though there are some real deals without a broker attached. Also there may be deals with a broker where the other party in the deal pays the fees. You may want to consider those as well. Good luck in finding the perfect neighborhood for you and your family. K..

We found our 3 bedroom apt. ($2000, utilities included) from Halvatzis Realty in Astoria. Maybe you could try them. We like Astoria.
