hey mamas, help! i thought it was just MY fashion bug that was closing, i thought "oh that's ok i'll go online and buy jeans, no sweat". well i go online and find - ALL fashion bugs are closing! *Sob* :(

so where can i go to get affordable jeans that fit right? i have looked at a few websites - are the flare leg/boot cut going out of style or something? i LOVE LOVE LOVE fashion bug's system of the color/shape indicating the cut and fit. i FINALLY figured out "my" style, and now they're going out of business :( i am curvy and straight leg jeans just look grandma-ish on me. help! :(

OH PS - after some research. i found the "right fit technology" where they use the shapes to indicate which style they are - at lane bryant for $60!!!!!!!!! really? that's so stupid.

***one more edit lol. found some at old navy. i know their quality isn't the greatest, but has anyone gotten their jeans and liked them?
anyone know where i can find similar to the red triangle (boot clut, flared) in plus petite sizes for closer to $30-$40???

What can I do next?

*sniffle* I feel for you too! my friends have all been trying to get me to go to the closeout sales, but my wallet has moths flying out! Waaaah! They made the best chino's ever!

After I had my son, standard jeans never fit right(not that they ever did). I often got guys jeans and tailored them myself(I know not everyone can do this).

I found off the rack jeans that fit. Try Baby Phat Fashions(yeah, that one that Kimora Lee Simmons does) Baby Phat's Silver Label is carried at JC Penny, Wal-mart, and I think Kohl's, with Wal-mart being the least expensive. Of all of the ones I tried, they fit perfectly, and they have boot cut, flared, and NO FREAKIN' LOW RIDERS! I really hate low riders. Flirting with 40, and I want style without showing more than I am comfortable with. They do have plus and petite's as well.

I paid between $10-20 a pair for them.

Hope this helps.

Charming Shoppes, who own Fashion Bug, also own Lerner New York or, um... what are they called now... New York and Co.? They own Lane Bryant too.

Also, when I was working at Fashion Bug many moons ago the company filed for bankruptcy twice and had "going out of business" sales twice. As in, the company was DEFINITELY closing. They ended up being bought out, obviously. Much like Hostess is trying to sell off assets, Charming Shoppes is probably trying to do the same thing.

Anyway. Check here to see who's still open.

IME, you really can't go wring with Levi's.
They cost more, but better quality--they last forever.

I LOVE Levis. They are the only jeans I can find my size in long and boot cut. They have curvy, slim fit, low rise, mid rise, high rise, long, short, regular. You get the point. They have pretty much every type of jeans you could want. I typically get mine at Kohls.

I don't like Old Navy jeans, on my body. Their sizes run BIG on me, and they never have long smaller sizes. I've also found they start thinning at the knees very quickly.

I really like Maurices brand jeans and they have several different styles and sizes. I LOVE Hydraulics, which they carry too, and they aren't super expensive, and several times a year they have sales on them where you can get them for less than $20.
