yes, it is very possible. The hormone usually appears about 2-3 weeks after conception & blood tests can tell earlier. So if I were you & this was driving me nuts (which it would), I would go get a blood test to see. Good luck!

I doubt if you are. I have 5 kids and I tested positive before my period was even late with every one, and if my period was late and I tested negative, then I was not pregnant. You're probably just stressed out worrying about it and it's causing a delay in your period. If I could get back all the money I wasted on pregnancy tests that I took after my period was late and the first was negative then I could pay for my kids college. I would take tons just hoping to see a line. I would tell you to just try and relax and even though it's hard, try not to think about it too much and just have fun with your partner. When you least expect it, you'll get pregnant. Take a vacation together and vow not to mention anything about a baby. Just enjoy each other and laugh a lot. You're body will relax and it will help.

You could be. I'm not sure what symptoms are making you feel pregnant. With me, I noticed I had to urinate frequently and my breasts were sore. Neither of these were symptoms I ever had unless I was pregnant and they appeared no more than a week or so after conception both times. If it's that sort of symptom, then it adds weight to the evidence of being late. However, if it's just being hungry or moody, or something like that. Well, that could just be PMS along with the anxiety of your uncertainty. Have you been pregnant before? If so, how do these symptoms compare with that? There are lots of other benign reasons for a late period, so don't worry about that too much. And those tests don't always detect it. I understand (from what my doctor told me) that they pretty much never give a false positive, but often give a false negative. Wait as long as you can stand it and then go into your doctor if you're still late. And try to keep your mind off of it as much as you can. Good luck!

If you already tested, first thing to do is take another test. If its still negative then I am going to have to recommend going with that. The thing is, those hormones in your body that make you "feel pregnant" are the same hormones that a pregnancy test looks for, so if you have high enough levels to feel them, then you are definitely going to test positive. You could try testing again, it is possible you just got a dud, or like happened to me when I tried for 18 months to get pregnant, its just wishful thinking.
You mentioned you were trying to get pregnant, are you taking prenatal vitamins? Those can sometimes trigger some of the symptoms that make you feel pregnant even though you aren't. So, sure, go ahead and test again, but if its negative you most likely are not. You can always see a Dr for a blood test to be sure, but the urine tests are pretty accurate.

as a labor and delivery nurse AND a mom, i can tell ya that indeed you can be pregnant. if you ovulated late this past time it could be that its just not showing up on the test yet. and HCG which is the hormone the test is testing for shows up later with urine than with blood. i was pregnant and for 2 weeks past time to start a period my tests were negative. the one way to find out is get a blood test. also, its possible that the signs you are seeing could also be just you about to start your period i.e. hunger, moodiness, bloated feeling, headaches. good luck! take those prenatal vitamins JUST IN CASE!

Hello E.,

A few years back a friend was late, but every test she took came back negative. It wasn't until she was about 2 months pregant that a test finally show +. Those tests look for hormone levels, and sometimes your hormome levels can be low.

Go to your Doc & ask for a blood test.

Good Luck.

E., Home pregnancy tests are not 100% accurate. They are usually right, but not always. I would recommend taking another test when you 1st go to the bathroom 1st thing in the morning.

The onset of our cycles can cause us to be bloated, have breast tenderness, nausea, and so much more. So you should wait a week then retake the test. If your period has not come in a few more weeks, it still would not be safe to say you are pregnant. There are alot of reasons why we become late some months and on time others. Don't get your hopes up till you know for sure! Good Luck!

Hi E.,

I just wanted to tell you that with both of my pregnancies I took a pregnancy test and they were both negative, two day's later I had a doctors appointment and had them take one and it was positive. Two day's later!! That was the first pregnancy, with the second one same thing only I didn't go to the doctor for the second test I just took another home test then called and made my first doctor's appointment for 8 weeks or whenever you doctor first wants to see you for the first time. So don't give up hope yet you never know, I would recommend waiting a few day's and taking another one. Oh, and just to let you know my second pregnancy was twins!!! Good luck hopefully the same will happen with you.

It's always a possibility! I took FOUR negative home pregnancy tests and one negative at the doctor's office, but was pregnant all the time (like you, I just felt pregnant). I didn't want to get my hopes up either, but was super thrilled when I finally got that positive test. Turns out, she just wasn't ready to make herself known until I was about 7 weeks along. Good luck!
