Has anybody ever tried this and had success? If so, where did you go? I am interested in trying it out, but don't have any experience with it. Thanks!

What can I do next?

A. - I have not personally used hypnotherapy but do know a hynotherapist in the Burnsville area. He has had great success with people who are trying to stop smoking, lose weight, etc. He shares an office with my Shiatsu Massage Therapist.

If you are in south metro area, let me know and I'll get you his contact information.

All the best,

Hi A.,
My husband was a long time smoker, he tried everything for it, and nothing worked. I finally suggested hynotherapy to quit, and he has been smoke free now for over 7 years. I highly reccomend it. I don't remember the name of the woman he went to, he just picked her out of the yellow pages. She also made him a CD to listen to on his own for a few weeks to reinforce what she said in the one time session. They can help with so many other things besides smoking. I was thinking of going myself to curb my sweet cravings.

As others here have noted, the power of the subconscious mind is incredible.

It can work and it does work. One of the other responders mentioned learning how to apply it yourself and then the crucial key, 'remembering' to apply what you have learned! ;}

My daughter went for a fear of needles and to practice hyno-birthing while she was pregnant. She wanted to be able to control the sensation of pain. It worked quite well. Unfortunately the person she went to no longer lives in this area. She will make a personalized audio program for you though. Her website is : www.acaringcouch.com

My cautionary note would be to do a little research on who you would go to, they are not all the same (naturally). The person that Kelly mentions sounds absolutely fabulous! (an over-achiever maybe..;} but very comprehensive and well-balanced in her training).

Reiki is amazing! An ancient form of healing. A friend of mine is a lifetime practitioner and has had amazing results!! I can highly recommend his service with no reservations. Our family has been blessed to have his assistance on several occasions with major life issues. www.focusedenergyhealing.com

The best people want to EMPOWER YOU!! (as opposed to making you ever-dependent upon "their" skills).

Please feel free to email me if you need any further insight or suggestions.

Many blessings to you and yours!

Hi--I'm not sure what you want to try it FOR. I did hypnotherapy with a psychologist in Washington State for anxiety and panic attacks, and it was helpful. He helped me learn how to do it myself, and practicing it daily helped kinda gear my body to a lower gear; I think that's the best way I can describe it. Then I showed up to my prepared childbirth class, and lo and behold, the instructor was teaching pretty much the same principles. It definitely helped in labor with my first; with my second, I hadn't had a refresher course and I was much more nervous and in a lot more pain--all that combined to make what I'd learned useless, but I think at least part of that was that I simply forgot to use it. So--for those two things, I can recommend it. Feel free to email me if you have more questions!

I had success with hypnobirthing. Was really relaxed during my second son's birth. I had a lot of fear and stress prior to practicing hypnobirthing. I would assume hypnotherapy works for many other things.

My dad is a hypnotherapist in PEwaukee. I smoked for 16 years and we hypnotized July 17th, 2006 (2 months pregnant). I did not want to quit but knew I needed to. I have never smoked since. Don't even want to. Jerry Calvi
