How Much Do You Tip Your Dog Groomer?

Runnermomof2- WOW! Thats a lot to pay for a st. bernard, even if you are a going to a super great groomer!
I am a dog groomer, independent contractor at a small store and I dont always get tipped, it depends on the owner. I charge anywhere from $40-84 depending on the size of the dog for a full service groom (shampoo, conditioner, blow dry, brush out, nail trim, nail grinding, anal gland expression, ear plucking and ear cleaning)
Customers usually tip anywhere from $5-20 depending on the customer. Like I said, we don't always get tipped though. Any amount is greatly appreciated and means we did a good job :-)

OK my first thought was .....my dog groomer? She gets three meals and a roof over her head. But I have shepherds and a Beagle so brushing the girls is on the chore list.

I tip about 20% for everything.

I want them to want my dog to keep coming back and be treated well.

I tipped 10-15% when I had my Shar Pei. Since I wanted her to be treated well and I appreciate a job well done, I found tipping to be a nice incentive. Good luck.

I usually do around 15-20%. I believe etiquette is similar to if you got your own hair cut.

That's about what my groomer charges. I usually tip $10.

5 bucks if the dog looks good and not all nicked up.

Waaaay too much but completely worth it. I use an amazing mobile groomer that comes to my house and it is not in her usual area. She does a great job and I don't want to look for another groomer!
