I tip 20%, just as I would at the hair salon. They really have a harder job to do than fixing my hair, so they deserve every dime.
Hello Ladies,
This may seem like a stupid/silly question but I honestly don't know so I'm asking those that do --- Are you suppose to tip a dog groomer? And if so, how much? Do you consider it compared to when you go to a hair stylist? Is this just silly?
This is the first time I'll be taking my dog to one, as before my sis always did it, but now she lives too far away to keep up with it, not that she's a pro, but did take lessons, and it's not something we've ever talked about.
Taking him in tomorrow so really would like to know.
Thank You
Hope everyone is enjoying their day

I always tip $5.00 for grooming. For Christmas, I give $20.
It's not silly. Yes, I believe you are supposed to tip a dog groomer. I do. I don't know what the going rate is, but I give about 10%. A little extra at the holidays.
ETA: Looks like I need to increase my tip!
We tip 20%. It is much appreciated!
I don't know the amounts, but I know you should tip for the service. I had a friend years ago who was a groomer.
My groomer charges $60, I tip her $10 on this.
Yes you tip. I usually round my check up to an even $50. The going rate for grooming for our Toy Poodle is just usually $35-$39.
I do same as Kate S. charge usually $55. I tip $10.
We just had our dog groomed yesterday. We tip 20%, but he is afraid of everything and needs TLC.
