How Much Do I Tip Dog Groomer?

Hi Moms,

I've only brought my dog to get groomed one time, and that was 4 years ago... I gave her a "puppy cut", and her skin became very irritated, I never cut her down again... I wanted to give it another chance, and try the puppy cut on her again... It's 65 to get her groomed ( includes: bath, nails, shaving her down).. How much do you tip the groomers? I'm not used to bringing her, (I normally do it at home) so I don't know "proper etiquette". She's a 45lb mix of English Pointer and Golden Retriever. I normally tip 20-25% for everything else, I just don't know if its the same for groomers :0)
Thanks!

What can I do next?

It doesn't cost me as much to get my dog groomed, but I always leave her a 25% tip. She does a really good job so I feel like she deserves it.
Last time she groomed my dog, my dog was really feisty and it took the groomer a lot of extra time, so I left her an even bigger tip.

I am a 20% tipper for everything unless the service was horrid and then I might leave 10%.

Service people earn tips and deserve tips for good service. Tips make up a good part of their wages.

My poodle is at the goormer less than an hour as well but that does not mean the groomer does not deserve a tip. I am thankful that my dog is not caged all day waiting to be groomed and then placed back in a cage with a huge dryer blowing at him until I al "allowed" to come get him at 4.

If someone can't tip everytime, then it would be nice to do something special over the holidays, like freshly baked cookies, bread or something just to say thanks.

Go cheap = you get cheap

Maybe I'm cheap...I only tip 10% on everything, everywhere...It's what I tithe, why should I give more to others than to God?

And, I don't tip my dog groomer. I pay her $45 for my poodle/bichon mix and she there's less than an hour.

I am embarrassed to say that I can not afford to tip my groomer. We have 2 dogs with ever growing hair that does not shed. So we shave them every 6 weeks or so. She earns about 425ish per year from us and it's all I can swing. That sounds cheap to even me and I wish I could do more. We rescue animals and with the food, litter, vet bills, medicines, etc.. It's just not there to give.

15 to 20 percent is normal. Tips are greatly appreciated and come far and few between. Please tip your groomers, believe me, they earn it especially if they express anal glands.

I am the same as Suzanne on this...I have never tipped the groomer because I just never thought about it.
At $70 a visit, that's all I can do.
