So I've been on here a lot lately, sorry for all the questions! LOL first I didn't want a baby, now I do, thought I was pregnant, turns out I'm not blah, blah, blah. Anyways so my 3rd baby turned 1 last Wednesday, I stopped night nursing her starting Thursday night. I have also cut out most nursing during the day this past month. So now she nurses in the morning around 8, then at 10 and then at 1 for her nap. That's alll until the next mornig. So just 3 times a day. My hubby and I decided we want one more baby so we are a little excited about the return of ovulation. I know that all woman are different but in your experiance how soon did your period return? Aslo do you think mine could return if I am still nursing my 1 year old 3 times a day?

What can I do next?

I'd ask if you googled, b/c that's how I found it. Anywho - here's the data

anyway:
0-6 months - 7% of BF moms have a period
6-12 = 37%
12-24 = 48%
over 24 = 8%

Dad On Purpose nailed it... we are all different. My period started about 2 months after my daughter was born, while I was still nursing her. I was so not happy...

I did not start a period until I stopped breastfeeding completely. With both my kids. But that is just me :)

I breastfed both my kids exclusively. And I nursed them on-demand 24/7. And they had huge appetites.
I got my period back, within 6 months. I was still breastfeeding and on-demand.

Bear in mind, that a woman can still get pregnant, while breastfeeding.

I nursed for 16 months, got pregnant WHILE I was nursing around the 14th month, even though my period hadn't started yet. So, then I had no period during my second pregnancy, and when I nursed my second child. Almost 3 years period free... it was awesome!

I weaned my oldest son from night feedings at 17mths and my period came back in about a month. I'd say yours should be returning soon and you could get pregnant even before it comes back if you are only nursing 3 times a day and if you aren't using any birth control. Good Luck :)

My period came back when my daughter was about 4 months old, and I I was still nursing full-time, so yes, there is a chance it could return.
