Hi,
Check with your park district, they maybe able to give you a name of a stable that they recommend. Palatine Park District is a great place, it is right on Dundee rd along with the stables in I think Wauconda straight down Rand Rd.
I am looking for somewhere I can take my almost 5 year old (less than a month)to ride horses. I don't expect to take her out on a trail right away. Any places in the area? Or even within a reasonable distance?
Thanks for the recommendations! I will definitely be looking into it!

My almost 4-year-old just went to a birthday party at Palatine Stables (part of the Palatine Park District) and it was FABULOUS. The kids got to ride ponies and there was staff guiding the ponies on the trails. It was a hoot. I don't know any details about cost, etc., but I'm sure if you look on the Palatine Park Dist. website, you can get the contact information.
Hope this helps!
A friend currently goes to Freedom Woods in Morton Grove. She love it there.
Janesway Farms is located on Rt. 59 near Schick Road - it is in Bartlett. It is a great place. They have pony rides and you can take lessons there too. In the summer time they have riding camps. I know some people who have gone there for birthday parties too. I checked & I couldn't find a website but their number is ###-###-####.
Also, Sonny Acres is having their pumpkin festival right now. They have pony rides in addition to all of the other rides, hay mazes, hay rides & other fun. We took our girls a couple of weekends ago and they had a great time! It is located on Rt. 64 just east of Rt. 59.
Have fun!
Hi
There's a riding stable at the corner of Rt. 59 & Army Trail Rd - I think it's Bartlett? that has ponies and horses. I think there's a place in St. Charles - Sunny Acres on North Avenue, I think it's east of Rt. 59 that may have ponys availble too. I know this time of year it's always set up for halloween with scarecrows and bales of hay.
