Does anyone make their own ranch dressing? If so what is your favorite way of making it?

I would love any ideas!

Thanks!!

I have used this recipe several times:

For dressing you'll add 1 cup mayo plus 1 cup buttermilk to it, for dip 1 3/4cups sour cream & 1/4 cup buttermilk. It's very, very yummy!

I make mine from the packet of Hidden Vally Ranch at the store that you add mayo and milk. It tastes so much better than out of a bottle. But I have never made it from scratch - can't wait to see your answers, maybe I will try them out too!

The Hidden Valley package is the BEST...I have used it for YEARS...salads, dips and chicken tenders.

Blessings.......

I, too, make the Hidden Valley kind from the dry packet. If I am on a family-wide healthy kick, I can use low cal/low fat ingredients, but it does alter the taste. Its used for salads and veggie dip and my teen daughter uses it with grilled chicken breast, shredded carrots and cucumbers for her lunch at school wraps. Her fave!

Many years ago (15 maybe?) I got a dressing container with with a little spinner thing in it (for mixing I guess)...free with a multi-pack purchase of the dry packets.... a mail in deal with so many UPC's or something....and its a Tupperware sort of thing with a pour lid. Its always in the re-frig, not the cabinet! It was well worth whatever mail in hassle I had to do!

I tried to make my own, but apparently I was the only one who liked it. It was just buttermilk, sour cream, and herbs. My problem is that I don't use buttermilk for anything else so most of the carton was just wasted. Instead I found Cindy's Kitchen Buttermilk Ranch in the grocery store (refrigerated near the lettuce and salad mixes) and we love it.

I too use the Hidden Valley Ranch mix, but instead of packets from the grocery store I buy bulk container from Costco, much cheaper. Love that I can control what goes in it -reduced fat Mayo, skim milk or lowfat sour cream when making dip. I've used the powder to season chicken too. Super Yummy!

P.S. Bulk container is not enormous like most stuff at Costco it's about 16 oz I think :)
