Yep! My daughter often passes up trips to the zoo, the library, etc. (things she LOVES to do) in order to stay at home. Sometimes it takes some "talking up" to get her excited about doing other things, but overall, it makes me happy that she loves to be in her home with me. :)

My kids and I love to be at home--same with my hubby when he isn't working. But I also love to get out too. Its just finding the balance for us.

yes, I used to be one that could not sit at home but now we are major homebodies! My husband and I don't even like going out to ball practice...ugh Our children on the other hand, like to go, go, go. They are happy either way, we usually take a day a week to stay home and do nothing. They play together in their playroom, and I get quiet time....sometimes. :o)

My younger daughter. She's happy to play in her room by herself with her little toys, and dislikes being out in a crowd. At home she's relaxed, happy, and has a hysterical sense of humor. Away from home, she's tense and shy, and before long will ask, "When can I go home?" Of course, her big sister is a social butterfly who loves to be the center of attention, so they never want to do the same things!

My son. He is an indoor guy, now and again he likes to go places, then he wants to come home again.
I think it's mostly that he likes video games though!

Oh, yeah. Mine's 16, and very much a homebody. He does have friends, and does have fun with them, but he's most comfortable at home.

The short answer is "yes" .... and I also have one who is the total opposite and hardly ever chooses to stay home! That said, the "homebody" is 18 years old and my "social butterfly" is 15 years old. I had more say over their social activities when they were younger and I tried to let them lead as "balanced" a life as possible, with both outings and home time. Enjoy this time your child wants to spend at home. Eventually, they'll all find a "significant other" and leave us with an "empty nest"! :) Best wishes

My son loves to be at home because that is where all of his tools are (He has an obsession with tools and plays in our garage with tools most of the day now that school is out). He knows he can't bring them other places because they can be dangerous, so he often passes up playdates in order to be with his prized possessions! He is very social/extroverted, but just also very cerebral and needs to create his own stimulus. I'm an introvert, so I love it! Your child might be introverted and/or just more comfortable in familiar surroundings. Make sure you get out of the house with or without him (for your own sanity)!
