I am a little stumped on what are good questions to ask to find a good childcare. So far I have: Do you care for infants, how long have you been caring for children, and do you know sign language. Any suggestions? -S.
Ask about how often they change diapers and if a record is kept daily of naps, feedings, BM's etc.
Ask how long each person has been employed there.
Ask what days they are NOT open.
Rates etc.
Ask who if anyone enters the home during the daytime
Ask if there is a maximun number allowed in your child's age group and if so how many do they currently have.
I am the mother of 1 that couldn't find loving and dependable CHILD CARE for my daughter so I became a "stay at home mom" that needed an income. I started caring for first one friend�s child while she worked, then another - then another, etc. It solved ALL of our problems, they got dependable loving child care and I had the income that I needed. This was in 1988 and I just couldn't give it up once my daughter grew up. It's not a job - - - it's a way of life! The children are all a part of my family. I also have 16 years experience with "special needs" children. If I can be of any help to you, I would be more then happy to do so.

First aide training, CPR training, extra classes/training teachers are required to take. Emergency procedures. Child to teacher ratio.
Most of these have laws requiring but it's good to know anyways plus some schools require their teachers to have extra training, etc.
