So What Happened?

Im sorry if I failed to mention that I did have my thyroid removed due to cancer 5 years ago and I know that that along with the radiation may have caused this but now my thyroid levels are in check and am at loss as how to get my hair back

You might want to make an appointment with a doctor if you haven't already. Thyroid problems result in hair loss or there could be other medical reasons. Even stress can result in hair loss! Best to rule them out first.

I wish I could help you on how to get it to grow back...I believe there is a shampoo/conditioner that will help ease further loss (such as Nioxin).

I agree with the previous writer. There are several reasons for hair loss, but a common one is a thyroid difficulty. It doesn't take long to get tested.

There are lots of things advertised for growing hair, but I've no information as to whether they're worth the time or the money.

That could be a sign of thyroid issues, stress or a poor diet. I would consult a dr. asap to find out what the issue is and address it.

Nutritional supplements may or may not. I have a book that lists the possibilities if you are interested. There are several.

F.,

I am not sure if this is going to help you but about 5 years ago, my hair started shading a lot. I had a long and full hair. All of a sudden, it started thinning. My hair stylist insisted on Nioxin products which I began to use. They are a bit pricy. I did not see the result right away but slowly, my hair stopped shading. At that time, I also stopped in putting any chemicals to my hair such as color, etc... I had it trimmed every month. Well the volume never went back to the way it was but at least it stopped from thinning. I am not sure if Nioxin helped but my stylist always swear by this product.

HOW do you wear your hair? Meaning, pony tail, pulled back in clips, etc. Also, how LONG is your hair?
If you have long hair that you pull back...that will cause thinning in the front. My hippy brother has always had a long head of hair (gross) He, in our growing older age, has had a HUGE amount of hair loss at the front of his head....reason? having a pony tail for 30 years.
Good Luck and I hope you are doing well,
m:)
