Have You Give a Big Tip Accidentally?

Ok, talking about being sleep deprived, lol.
I just figure it out that I tip the pizza guy $26, I took his tip out of my wallet and put it in the kitchen bar without looking that I had my $20 bill there. When I gave it to the guy (the $20 and his tip $6)he was very thankful, I actually thought that he may was new. The pizza was cheaper then the tip.
I am trying to tell myself that things happen for a reason and that he maybe need it.
Have you give a big tip accidentally?

What can I do next?

Yikes! You really are sleep deprived!! Lol, nothing you can do now, you probably just made that guys day though! So at least someone came out happy of that situation lol. I accidently did that too once, I was distracted and accidently tipped a good $10 extra without realizing it cause I read the total wrong. Things happen though thats life. Get some sleep girl!

I think it is perfect that you are thinking it happened for a reason.....those things tend to work out. I too would think that he needed it more than me.

Never have tipped that much, but when I'm out with my children and the waitress in nice, I like to leave at least a 30-40% tip. We are not loud or unruly, and I straighten up the table and I am not a demanding customer, but baby does drop a lot of food bits and I don't want to grub around under the table (although I have.) I think that maybe it helps them remember you, and I've noticed that I always get really great service at our regular restaurants when I am out with my girls and that the waitresses go out of their way to bring my daughters extra "off the bill" treats lately. And if I ask for extra salad breadsticks for the baby, then I don't feel guilty.

It's kind've warped me, though, because I look my mother in law and baby out for dinner the other night at Applebees, and the whole meal was about 25 dollars, and she insisted on leaving the tip...and then left 2.50. I guess that's ten percent...but I would've left at least five. So I know if I ADDED UP all the times I've overtipped (which is probably every time) it comes to a bit.

Whoops! :) I agree, you'll have great pizza if you order again.

Just chalk it up to good karma..... I can't say I have given a big tip accidentally but I have lost a 20 here and there. I chalked that up to good karma too - for the one who found it LOL!!!!

I can't say that I have ever given an extra large tip on accident but I did drop a one hundred dollar bill while strolling through Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. I didn't realize it until many hours later. I just pray that it was picked up by someone in true need.

Yep! I tipped our waiter when my dad and I were eating out and instead of a $5 bill and a couple of $1 bills, I somehow got a $100 bill in there and didn't realize it until later.
I was upset at first, but then prayed that he would use it for something that he really needed!

Yes! My husband accidentally gAve the guy who drives you from the airport to the rental car place a $100. We said he must have really needed it and that is why it happened. We didn't feel bad at all, well maybe for 10 seconds!

If I have I have not caught it yet ... and yes you are correct things do happen for a reason. I was a manager for a pizza place for a while and the drivers have to carry the insurance (and it goes up with this type of a job), pay for their own gas and most people do not tip for pizza at all or they tip a dollar or two. For me I always tip 5 at least but my MIL does NOT TIP!?!?! We get pizza about once a month and when I know it is pizza night I try to have some cash on me to tip the guy once I found out that she does not tip. She does not even tip the dog groomer and that is what they LIVE on just like a server. So, yes with the gas spike and who knows what else going on the guy could probably put that 20 to good use. BTW good on you for not calling and saying "can you bring my 20 back?" I know TONS of people who would.

I don't remember doing it... but I probably have. I have accidently given a girl (mid-20s) $60 more back when I was a Target cashier as a senior in high school because they were brand new and seriously stuck together... she was a doll and came back and told me and gave it back.

Wish I was that pizza boy lol or that person who drives you to the airport the day Gee's husband was going lmao.

It has happend to most of us, in one way or another. Sometimes it's just a few dollars, sometimes a bunch. I'm sure the delivery guy was thrilled. But... if you ever order from the same place and he is your delivery guy,,,, he will expect it again..(o:

No but as a waitress, it is very nice when people are intentionally generous and leave more than 20% :)

I'm a 14 year old socially awkward girl and my first time ordering pizza home alone was just an hour ago. So when the guy showed up he told me clearly that it was $ 20.19 and I even asked him a second time since I officially didn't hear what they had told me over the phone. So I handed him a 20 and a 10 with my mind subconsciously thinking he said $ 29.10, even though I definitely heard him. And to sprinkle some frosting on the already burn cupcake I awkwardly scavenged for four dollars to tip him from my pocket. He gave me an odd smile before leaving and I immediately realized what I had done after I shut the door. I'm going to lay awake at night thinking about this for quite a while.
