My lifelong dream is to be on Jeopardy or Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Have any of you ever tried out for a tv show? If so, what was the audition experience like?

What can I do next?

Yes, my ex and I were on The Newlywed Game and we won. It was hysterical! And then after that since we had contact with the producers, we tried out for Family Feud, were "accepted" but I was pregnant so they wanted to wait til after I had the baby. Then that was the time they switched hosts so we never persued it again. I don't know anyone else that has done that, I think you will have a blast so go for it!

We were on the Price Is Right! All you have to do is stand in line and they do a mini interview of everyone and secretly pick out the contestants. They called my husband to contestants row...he was in his dress blue Marine uniform...however...didn't get on stage....but it was the most fun we ever had!

I tried out for Jeopardy about 10 yeats ago! It's hard! I made it tothe third round and the questions come fast! I am a history buff, but you really need to be up on a lot of history from everywhere - Europe, Middle East, Asia, South America, U.S. - all of it. You're strictly timed in each round just like you would be on the show. And, just like the show, some days you're lucky and the categories seem made for you and some days they're everything you wished they weren't! Go for it though - the process is fun and exciting!

ETA - from a post below it seems they may have changed the try out format. Regardless, I may try again. I know a woman who tried out three different times in the 90s and eventually got on and won around 60K!

I was accepted onto College/Highschool Sr. Jeopardy in the mid 90's (I have more USELESS information trapped up here, darn adhd), but I left for bootcamp instead. ((I went on a lark with a few classmates)).

It wasn't like the adult version... they sent out teams to universities all over the country and you just stood in line American Idol Style and answered scores of random questions in increasingly smaller groups, and filled out lots and lots and lots of paperwork they'd hand out in line (pre smartphones) and collect.

My family and I were on Family Feud... Actually just aired last week :) It was so much fun we auditioned at a local furniture store and they loved us immediately they flew us to Atlanta twice because the first time they didn't have enough time to tape our episode. We ended up losing but the whole experience was totally worth every bit!!! Good luck!!! (Calonge Family from the feud) :)

I tried out for Who Wants to be a Millionaire last November. It was fun. It was long. You really have to get LOUD for the recordings but it is fun. It is taped in New York City and you have to pay your way there. If you pass the test and they take you for your interview, they will pay for your return there for the show.

I took the test and passed for Jeopardy! But never got called for the in-person interview. So I can't tell you what that is like.

When I auditioned for WWTBAM, Tim Gunn and he was just LOVELY!!! We were in the front row and he came over and talked to us. It was really nice and fun!!!

Does that help? If you need more information, let me know - PM me.
