Gum in the Dryer! - Cuba,MO

Help! I check all pockets before doing laundry, but apparently I missed a piece of gum in my hubby's pocket. I took all the clothes out of the dryer one by one to shake them out and still didn't find the gum. Now I have pink strawberry trident gum all on the inside of my dryer. Thankfully it is not on any of the clothing that I washed (well not that I noticed when folding the load). Can someone please give me some advice to make the dryer easier to clean. Yes, I am making my hubby clean the dryer since it was his gum and the fact that I just told him last week that it wasn't a good idea to keep loose pieces of gum in his pants/shorts. I'm sure he would appreciate any advice that all you wonderful mommy's and daddy's can give on how to make this process an easy one.

What can I do next?

this happened to me and I sprayed WD-40 on an old rag and it took it off, then I didn't want the smell in the dryer so I wiped the drum down with rubbing alcohol and threw a damp towell in so nothing would end up on any clothes. Worked like a charm!

Ok, take an ice cube to the gum. It's going to be tedious, but it does work. Also, peanut butter is great at getting sticker glue off of doors, you might want to give that a whirl. And, of course, he'll want to clean that off with some Dawn water after ;)

Try getting a can of that spray air for dusting electronics. Hold it upside down and spray it on the gum, freezing it. It should chip right out of your dryer. Or you can use ice held against it, but that would take longer to freeze.

If ice doesn't work try Goo Gone you can get it at walmart, target, walgreens works like a charm on many things but gum on clothes, the dryer, carpet it does a great job.

I've also used olive oil when in desperate need....

For everyone who posted, something new you can try ~ Home Depot carries an Orange Citrus air freshner ~ works great to get sticky things off of surfaces and it has a nice smell!! The plus it's all natural ingredients! I actually talked to some of the employees because they were using it when they move their price stickers and said it worked great to get the sticky film left behind off, so I thought why not!!

Oh and it does work good as an air freshner too:)
