Removing Sticker Goo from Clothes

My dear daughter and husband have done this many times (yes, husband - I hate those "Hello my name is... sticker nametags for a reason!). I spray Desolvit (spelling?) on it, let it sit for a few minutes, and toss it in the wash and it all goes away! You can buy the stuff in a spray bottle at walmart in the cleaning aisle, usually on the top shelf near the goo gone type stuff. Good luck!

Try putting vaseline on the residue and rubbing it. It should come right off. Then, yes, you have a grease stain, but if you use some laundry pre-treater (I use Shout), it'll come out.

You can remove the sticker goo or any adhesive from clothes, appliances, and non-carpeted floors with vegetable oil (I use the cheapest oil I can find). Rub the oil into the goo until the it breaks up or melts. When goo is removed, treat spot with dish soap to remove any grease residue.(I like dawn)Then wash item as directed.

try vinegar, dap and rub

white vinegar will get the sticky off.

I've used goo-gone to remove crayon, I would imagine it would work fine for sticker goo too. I haven't had any trouble with it staining clothing.

Pinesol. It works wonders! Then wash it and the Pinesol smell will go away. Good luck!

I would try hairspray. If that doesn't work try Shampoo.

This works for bubble gum, so I am assuming it will work for your problem. The thing that dissolves gum is lighter fluid...not lighter fluid for charcoal, but lighter fluid for lighters. Of course, you will want to immediately wash the shirt, although the lighter fluid will almost immediately evaporate. It works great!

The only success I have had is to let the sticker goo soak in Shout gel for 24 hours then scrub with a brush before putting it in the washing machine. Sometimes I had to repeat the process if it was a really stubborn sticker. (I have a love / hate relationship with stickers for this very reason.)

I went through this recently! My daughter left a sticker on a pajama shirt, and I don't know if it was because the shirt wasn't 100% cotton or what, but a lot of suggestions I got didn't work at all. The thing that worked for me was peanut butter, or you can try another kind of oil if you have allergy issues. I used the natural kind of PB, where you can really get at the oil.

Same thing happened to me - I used Dawn dish soap on it along with my potato scrubber and it came right off. Good luck!

I read somewhere, I believe Heloise, to put the shirt with the sticky side down on a piece of wax paper and then iron that area of the shirt and the sticky stuff will come off.

try useing wd40-works great for everything..

Rubbing alcohol works great also. Just pour it on the sticker and you should be able to rub it off with your fingers.

Try a warm iron on a steam setting with a sheet of thick paper placed between the goo and the iron. Run the iron across the paper a few times, and maybe the goo will soften and stick to the paper, or at least you might be able to better scrape it off.

This is how you can for sure remove wax from clothing. However, I have had this sticker problem in the past also, and I can tell you, the stuff does eventually go away if you scrape on it after you pull it right from the dryer. It might take about 4-5 dryer sessions, but if you're right on it, it should come out.

You can try a product called Goo Gone. However, it may stain some clothing. However, if you were going to throw it out anyways it might be worth a shot.

Use Goo Gone, it comes in different size bottles, it is liquid, and it can be bought at most stores.
