Hi S.! Welcome to the area! I love my salon and love the fact that they have an area where my little girl can get her hair done as well.

I also live on the eastside but I travel over towards the Lansing Mall (well worth the trip). I go to Lockworx Salon. They are an Aveda Salon too! The girl I go and see, her name is Mandy and she is wonderful! She is a new mother and an Army wife. Plus, she is a very up to date kind of girl.

Like I said, they also have a "little lox" room for the younger ones. My daughter loves to "go to the salon". She is nearly 4 and I have never had trouble with her not wanting to go. They have popcorn, toys, treats - you name it. And she does a great job as well!

So, if you are willing to drive a few extra miles to the other side of town, look up Mandy - you won't be disappointed! Oh, their number is: ###-###-####

Good luck!

Hi S.! Welcome to the area! I know how important it is to find a hairdresser that you like. I have been going to Douglas J in Okemos (it's near Okemos road) for about 3 years, which is absolutely wonderful! My hairdresser is Kim Kelly and her styles and trends are amazing. I've never had a bad haircut from her, and she is a wonderful person all around. In fact, I've never had so many people comment on my hair since I started going to her. She is also very good at looking at your face structure and determining what would look good on you, if you aren't sure what to do for style. Douglas J has a no tipping policy, therefore you pay only for your cut (I believe she charges $60-65 for a cut but can't be certain) I would recommend giving her a try. You will definitely not be disappointed! Good luck in finding someone you like!

Hi S. - Applause Salon on Michigan Ave in Lansing is a great place. My hairdresser is Vanessa. It is located next to the Church of the Ressurection (just down the road from Frandor heading towards downtown). Their number is ###-###-####. Vanessa doesn't work on Wednesday's but she's open and affordable. It is a great atmosphere. If you decide to check Vanessa out, tell her L. and Rich sent you.

I moved to the Haslett area 6 years ago and found a guy who now has his own shop. It's called salon W.O.W in East Lansing across from the Marriott hotel. He does charge $30 for a cut, but to me it's worth it(and I now live in Mason). I take my 15 year old daughter(she worked in the shop my guy did) to a shop in downtown Lansing called Salon 109. Tori(the owner) or Sunshine give good cuts and their are alittle cheaper 20 or 25. Good luck!
