Hi everyone! My daughter is graduating soon and I am trying to get the announcements sent out, but I need some etiquette advice! One question is, do graduating seniors send announcements to other seniors? Second, when sending an invitation to a family with 18 or 19 year olds living at home is it okay to put Mr. and Mrs. So & So and family or do you send separate cards? Third, my daughter works in a small dental office. Would it be okay to send an invitation to the office or do we send one to each employee.
I'm sure I will have more questions because I am beginning to totally freak out about the whole graduation and college thing. It is overwhelming!!!!!!

What can I do next?

Not having consulted an etiquette book on the matter, I would say that:
1) You do not need to send announcements to fellow graduating seniors. They are well aware of the event and fellow graduates. If they are at the same school.
2) Sending one per household is fine. Include Mr/Mrs and family.
3) It would be fine to send a single announcement to the "staff" at the dental office.

Relax mom. Even if it isn't done PERFECTLY (and who even knows what that is--someone always has a problem with something no matter what you do), it won't be the end of the world and you won't ruin your reputation or your daughter's.
Congratulations! Graduating senior with a job! WOO HOO! :)

I am in the same boat. My son graduates in June. I have the announcements in my car ready to mail out today. I don't know about you but that stuff ISN'T cheap!!!!

1. If they don't go to the same HS I would send an invite.
2. I put "The Smith Family
3. One for the office is fine. One of our intern's is graduating next weekend and he posted one on the bulletin board.

Isn't this fun!!!!??? We just ordered his tux for prom, did senior pictures, flowers for the prom. Senior year is expensive!

Good luck and congratulations. Bring lots of kleenex. I forgot when our daughter graduated from HS 4 years ago. I'm bring a box this time. Its the baby graduating!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!

I agree with Victoria W. also but wanted to add. If you are doing some sort of open house, you might want to have your daughter pass out the open house invite separate from the graduation invite.

BIGGEST thing to take note of is that announcements and invitations are 2 separate things (and make sure you have enough tickets if you're sending out invitations). In the 6 highschools and many many colleges I'm familiar with, only 1 didn't have tickets / a limit on number of people who could attend the ceremony, so make certain you know if/what the number is ahead of time.
