Hot Tools, Helen of Troy, and Curl Master all make reasonably priced professional grade blowdryers. I love curl master personally. I bought one with tourmaline, and it is ionic as well and have had it for nearly three years and used all day long on clients with no problems. It also was around $50. The tourmaline is a semi precious gem that helps distribute heat more evenly on the hair which is particularily important when straightneing hair. I got it at sally's. They also make great flat irons as well :)

Solano, the best you can get. They are pricey but when you feel the power, baby, it's a dream! Ok that sounded like a commercial, but really they are #1. If you live near Skokie, there is a company on Lawndale Ave. that repairs and refurbishes them, their prices are really good. You can probably find them by googling Solano. Feel the weight of the hairdryer, if it's lightweight, it won't have the power you need to do a good blow-out. Go for one with a heavier solid motor.
Good luck!

I'm a working hairstylist and we use our share of dryers. I agree with Jo the conair, they last a long time if you keep the screen clear they last even longer.A.

Hi there! It depends on how much you want to spend. Babyliss Pro is good or RUSK. You are going to want something that is Ionic or has Tourmaline in it. It really makes a difference in your hair. I have been a hairdresser for almost 10 years, and those are some that I have used. Hope it helps!!!

Hi V.! I use the Bed Head Ionic dryer and love it!!! It is easy to hold, has several attachments, and leaves your hair frizz-free. Ulta sells them. Good luck.

Hi V., I'm a retired Hairdresser and I have been through more blow dryers than you can even imagine...I still fix my sister-in-laws hair and one of my dear sisters gave me a blow dryer as a gift...I've had it for 7 years now, and I never had one that lasted that long...it's easy to clean the dust screen, allowing the air to flow through...It's made by CONAIR, Super Quiet 1875...it's also a pretty color...mine is purple and lilac...my other dryers were usually black or brown and I bought them at the Beauty Supply store...my sister-in-law said she bought it at Walmart...I bought a straighting iron for my granddaughter there...they do have a great selection of irons and blowdryers, but CONAIR, I have found to be the best. Good luck! You are so blessed to have curly hair, because you can wear your hair both ways and they both look lovely...Jo
