I washed my cream colored sweater with an item that color must have run from. I have a small blue stain on it now. I've washed it and it won't come out. Any suggestions? Thank you and Happy New Year!

Rit (that makes Rit dyes) makes a product called Color Run Remover. I have had luck with this in the past. Doesn't work as well on multi colored clothes but since your sweater is cream it should be okay. You normally put the whole package into your washing machine. But if it's just a small stain, I think you could make a small solution of it and just treat the stain. I think Walmart should carry it. It might be in the laundry section or it could be in craft section because it will be with the Rit dye display. Good luck!

You can try the spray-n-wash stuff (Resolve now?) -- or, you might even try Windex or Glass Plus! I have used that and gotten red dye from a beige skirt! (long ago and skirt was denim - so material might make a difference)

Try Shout Advance or the Shout Gel. They've gotten 5 yr old set-in baby formula stains out of the baby clothes we had in storage from our older daughter to our twins. You will have to treat the area and then let it sit for a while.

This is a really strange remedy and I don't know if it will work on a cream colored garment, but it's worth a try if you're about to throw it away. I did the same thing a couple of months ago but my sweater was red with dark black or blue marks ALL OVER it. It took a few rounds of this treatment and washing but eventually it was as good as new! Soak a couple of tea bags in hot water and let it steep for a bit. Lay the sweater on a flat surface and pour the tea over the stains then liberally sprinkle table salt over the areas. Let it sit for 10-20 minutes then run it in a cold water wash with your regular detergent. Check it before you toss it in the dryer and treat it again if necessary. Hope you get the stain out - I had only worn mine once before I did that and was determined to make it work!

Oxy Clean has worked for every stain of mine. Since it's off white..you can treat it and then wash it in hot water and it should come out. May have to wash a couple of times.

The weirdest thing that works for many stains for me is antibacterial Softsoap! I put it on stains and let it sit for half a day or so and then wash as I normally would. I also use oxyclean spray and that works for some as well. Good luck! :)
