Wondering if anyone has some personal feedback on the "G-Diapers"? I read about the product in my OB's office and was thinking about trying them out on my new daughter that I'm expecting this June. However, could not find very much advise or feedback anywhere on them. Just wondering if they are easy to use and easy to flush down the toliet as stated. Any advised would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

I am using Bumgenius cloth diapers for my 11wk. old son. I thought about G diapers but I didn't like that I would have to open the insert and empty the contents into the toilet. Many times I find myself with only one available hand and I thought this procedure would be inconvenient. It seemed that G diapers were the half way between cloth and disposable but not for me.

I used them for my son early on... they did leak, but not too bad, and they might make them better now (I had them when they first came out and I'm sure they have made improvements). I like them much better than cloth diapers though since you just flush them away -- we have a decent toilet, not too strong, but not weak -- and they flushed just fine. But you have to do it as soon as it hits the water, otherwise the inserts expand with all the fluid! I stopped using them b/c I started potty training my older son and it was too inconvenient. But, I wished I had them for later. I think it's just a matter of how much time and energy (and $$) you want to invest in helping the environment! Sometimes babycenter has them on sale... good luck!

I do not know about those but I used cloth diapers on my daughter because seh developed a rash so terrible from pampers that we could not keep a diaper on her without her screaming in pain. I used dydee diaper service. i loved it! Very easy just leave the pail outside and they take them away. you do not have to clean them. the price was very reasonable compared to paper diapers. You have to buy the wraps to hold them on but those are the easiest things in the world to use. i pull the old cloth and wraps out for my 4th child whenever she has a rash and honestly it helps the rash heal in a day. Look into those. they are really great too.

I used g-diapers during my baby's first several months. I thought they were ok when he was really little. They started leaking as he got older. We used disposable for when we were out of the house, and then eventually at night because the g-diapers would leak, and then finally we switched for good when he was maybe six months old or so (I can't really remember).

As for the flushing, I never did that - I made my husband do it (heh). I don't think he had any problems. We would collect a few in the diaper pail and then do a batch of them all at once. We don't have great toilets, but he said he was usually able to flush two at a time.

I don't know about the prices where you are, but I found it was cheaper to buy g-diapers at Whole Foods than from the g-diaper web site. If you buy four (I think), you should be able to get a volume discount.

If you have any specific questions, let me know and I'll try to remember. Good luck!
