Funny Moments When You Know Your Kid Needs an Anatomy Lesson

So all of the "funny things kids say" posts are making M. crack up and I J. remembered my favorite of Emmy.
She likes cracking jokes and she'll often grab my boyfriends hat and put it on and mock his voice and say something Silly (ussually something obvious that she finds funny) about him (he does the same to her)...he finds this super funny. I've tried and am not good. So one time she told the best yo moma joke by accident ever

Emmy: (puts on the hat and then uses a voice similar to the manly voice she uses to imitate Collin and states) Hi I'm collin's mom and my son has a vagina
I couldn't stop laughing for what felt like an eternity and then knowing shes only 5 and cant come up with that good of a yo mama joke I knew we had to talk (btw if I thought she knew how saying a boy has a girls body part was an insult I wouldve punnished her and not giggled)
so after settling myself and regaining composure I asked her what she thought boys had for private parts. Well she answered with the same as her but said they can magically stand while peeing and is shaped diferent, then she stated how as soon as the next boy dies shes next in line for being able to stand and pee (apparently she thinks theres a waiting list and its something she can be granted if one spot opens up). It's funny because at 2 she was obsessed with knowing the diferences and it hasnt come up since except for in regards to making babies so I guess she forgot the name. So I asked her to think about it and then she remembered and followed it up with running around the house like the 5 year old she is and giggling over the name and telling him what he had over and over.
Don't worry we followed it up with a conversation on when its acceptable to use that word and when not to, but it definitely made M. giggle.

So anyone else have an enlightening moment as to when they knew they needed to give the birds and bees , or anatomy lesson speech?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Megan, I don't think she thought she'd get the body part needed for peeing, she thought she'd get the ability to stand and pee when one less party who was able to stand was on earth--but yes she does say strange things lol.
I took it like the saying when someone dies an angel gets their wings. She often says when somene dies theres a new star in heaven, well I guess she thought when a man dies a girl gets to pee =)

I know ive told yall my little girl is obsessed with my breasts. She came over to M. the other day and started pushing on them. One then the other. I said - What do you think you're doing? She said - "Im checking your blood pressure, yup it's jiggly!" So, now I guess I have jiggly blood pressure.

My son, out of the blue one day, says he knows he needs to go pee when his bags are full.

What???

You know, those bags under his doodle where his body stores the pee until it needs to get out.

Ooohhhhh. Honey, those aren't for pee. Pee stays inside your body in your bladder. Those are your testicles. You need them if you want to make a baby with a woman when you're an adult.

-This was followed by a few days of him telling everyone that he has a special part that he can use to help make a baby with.

My cousin said girls have belly buttons so they can get the baby out and boys have belly buttons so they do not look funny in bathing suits:).

A little boy I work with said to the director that another boy hit him in his "bagina." Needless to say, he has sisters, and we all got a giggle out of it.

My daughter (4.5 y.o.) is also obsessed with my breasts. She was hitting the bed the other day while I laid there. Why? "To make them jiggle." Thanks.

J. M,
thats quite an imagination your daughter has.Im not J. talking about making the mistake of appropriate anatomy of the sexes,I mean"when one boy dies another girl gets her turn to stand and pee"I think its a pretty touchy subject when a child begins to learn these subjects.but shes so young and to incorporate death with why people have the "parts" they have is alittle strange(please dont take offense)because kids say the STRANGEST things.J. as long as you had a talk with her about the hows n whys.theres cute chidrens books about "going potty"and "why n how we are different"your daughter sounds very inquisitive and eager to learn!hey,we all learned it,thats why those books are out there and its cool youre open with your daughter and allow her to express herself, let her be comfortable with what shes learning and most of all helping her understand her body!good luck

Funny you should ask this today. My 4 year old was at gymnastics yesterday and his coach told M. afterwards that he was on the bars, had been asking for a turn. Suddenly whatever he was doing must have hurt. He yelled to her,, "Quick put M. down, your hurting the balls that hold the seeds, that make the boy babies!" Needless to say we had a good laugh. And he did need some further explanation on all that. It is truly amazing what kids say!
