Ah Friendsgiving! I would do mud and dirt. Chocolate pudding with crushed oreos (or chocolate grahams) with a gummy worm or 2. You can make them in the small plastic cocktail cups and put them on a cookie sheet. Don't forget the spoons. ;)
Hey moms, I am looking for a fun dessert for our homeschool association's friendship feast this Monday. It is outside at a park so I want it to be portable, do well outdoors for a few hours and I only have a day to pull it off so it has to be easy!! Any ideas? Also, since it is a friendship feast for kiddos I want it to be FUN :) I am going to google these turkey cookie things, but I don't know how involved it will be making them, appreciate any creative thoughts!
Thanks so much mamas :) Well I wanted to be all creative etc but I am feeling a bit weak in the food dept and I just started weight watchers and I am doing good!! So I decided not to sabotage myself with a bunch of cookies etc in the house :) Maybe nxt yr :) I decided to do apple slices with caramel dipping sauce, I figure it's festive, kids love to dip, lots of moms are trying to keep their dessert intake down to a dull roar before the actual holiday, so it was the best all around. I know I LOVE it when I go to a holiday party that is more about the social time than the food and there is some thing sweet and remotely healthy. Thanks for the input!

How many people are you serving? Our teacher asked us to bring pie since it's a traditional Thanksgiving dessert but since my dtr isn't crazy about pumpkin or pecan we made a chocolate pie. It was a big hit.
I looked at the turkey cookies and they are cute and easy. Even easier if you buy the cookies instead of making them.
I have made Jello cones but it may be too hot in Houston. Anyway take any flavor Jello soft set, layer into ice cream cones with Cool Whip or Ready Whip, so Jello -- whip -- Jello -- whip -- top with Jello. Refrigerate until set. Kids love them and no dishes. I did manage to find gluten free cones too and if you use Cool Whip it's fat free -- dairy free -- and could be gluten free too.
What about Dirt. Chocolate pudding with cookie crumbs mixed in and spotted with gummy worms. You can do individual cups or like an 9x13 pan.
These look cute:

And these look good too (and a bit easier):

Shaped everything. If say you're doing sandwiches, you can cut them into fall shapes with cookie cutters.
Jello Jigglers cut into fall shapes are good, and as long as it's not 100, you'll be okay, even with Houston-midity(I've visited friends in Texas, so I'm familiar with the weather).
Mud Pie(Chocolate pudding, crumbled chocolate cookies mixed in and crumbled over, gummy "bugs" and "worms" crawling out of it).
Have them make their own Dessert Pizza(large soft sugar cookies, cream cheese icing, and fruit slices).
Have them make their own Shortcakes(various berries, whipped cream, fruit).
Have them make their own parfait cup(vanilla yogurt, fresh fruit, granola cereal, mini chocolate chips, teddy grahams).
These last three can be individual fun bits the kids can make for themselves to share with friends and family.
Hope this helps.
Not sure how much time til the event but maybe amish friendship bread? If not enough time maybe came pops? You can decorated them to look like little turkeys or pumpkins.
Ice cream sodas for the kids and cookie exchange for the moms.
