I used an ovulation kit for a year with no luck. Finally, I told my husband we would have sex every other day for a month to see if that worked. Worked like a charm. And was much more fun than peeing on a stick. Good luck!
have any of you had luck using the first response ovulation tests? i used a friends fertililty monitor when i got pregnant w/my son, but we can't afford one of our own, so i was just wondering about any experiences w/the first response ovulation tests. thanks!!!
(i also am charting my cycle and doing basal body temp in the morning)

mymonthlycycles.com! Helps with charting, you can enter basal temps, cervical fluid, etc. It will tell you what days you are fertile and likely to conceive. It even emails you your fertile dates and if you miss a period.
And, it's FREE! ovulation kits didn't work for me because my cycle's are irregular.
I used it when I got pregnant with my son. It is pretty easy and I had luck with it. Good luck!
I have never used the tests, because I think they're a waste of money. If you just pay attention to your body (and have sex every other day), you should get pregnant. I know that everybody is different, but I can tell exactly when I am ovulating. I have pain in whichever ovary the egg is coming from that month and a white, slimy discharge (sorry to be so graphic) when I'm ovulating. If you pay attention to those things, and don't have any fertility issues, you should be pregnant in no time. Good luck! :)
Hi L.,
I am soo glad that they make these at-home tests!!! After "trying" for 9 months, my husband and I were starting to feel a little worried that it wouldn't happen . A friend told me to get the Ovulation Kit and I am glad to say it worked with flying colors!!! I also realized why I was not getting pregnant....I was ovulating on my 20th- 23rd day of my cycle..NOT around the 15th day like we are all told!!! So once we figured this out we were blessed the first time around!! That was 16 yrs. ago and two daughters later...our youngest just turned 13!!
Good Luck!!!

I used the First Response kit and have a beautiful 6 month old boy to show for it. :) For us it was necessary because we were working opposite schedules; the every other day thing just didn't work for us. Good luck!!
Glad you asked! I chart and take waking temps too and was wondering the same thing and it looks like we found some good answers! :o) Good luck!
I conceived twins naturally using it.
That charting should work better than an ovulation monitor anyway, so I would just be patient. We used the Billings moethod of Natural Family Planning, and it worked just fine, even for irregular cycles. That doesn't even involve taking your temperature (I do NOT have the discipline for that!), but just watching your mucus symptoms. www.boma-usa.org.
Good luck!
Dear L. D.
Just do what people used to do for eons before those pregnancy tests existed. Wait and hope and pray or just think about something else. You are already doing something very special, just relax. Yes, I know I hate to have people tell me that too. C. N.
I used inexpensive Lh test strips I got online (babywishes.com-- i think was the website). Those, and charting, temping and watching for my fertile mucous helped in our conception of my twins! I think the temping isnt as important, because that really can only tell you approximately when you O'd (after the fact). I temped and charted with my first pregnancy mainly to get an idea of when I was O'ing in my cycle. Turned out I O kinda late. I would say since you have already done this with the first pregnancy, you probably have an idea of where in your cycle you typically O, and therefore probably dont need to do that this time around. Checking for fertile mucous and Lh tests (ovulation tests) are really all you need, in my opinion. That was all I did for my second pregnancy and it happened in 2 months. Good luck.
