Embroidery Fabric Coming off Baby Clothes

Hi All, I'm talking about the fabric that they use to cover the stitching of embroidery on baby clothes. My daughters pajama tops have a large area of embroidery on the front, and on the inside is the fabric to cover it. Well it's coming off. I wouldn't normally mind, but she sleeps on her tummy and I worry about it being uncomfortable. Anyone know how to put it back on? I'm thinking I need a fabric glue, but don't know what works best. Any recommended fabric glue that stays soft and washes well?
Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I used Janay T's suggestion and simply ironed it back on, and it worked like a charm! The pajamas look brand new! Thank you Janay and all the mamas for great advice!

I do custom embroidery, and I add a similar product to the back of embroidery designs on onesies. Try ironing it back in place. Hopefully that will reactivate the adhesive.
If it doesn't work, remove it and see how your child handles it--neither of my kids are bothered by the back of embroidery designs.

You could try some soft iron on interfacing. Available at any fabric store.

Either leave it alone, or get some new sleepers with nothing on it. Do not use any glue, it is toxic and will be absorbed into her skin as she sleeps and sweats. It is probably not bothering her.

Usually the fabric behind the stitching is to help the machines do the stitching and not stretch out the garment.

If you want to cover the stitching, go to the fabric store and ask for some iron on fusible interfacing. They will help you with what one to by and also should be able to go over the directions. Even take the pjs in so they can see it. (and your baby, so they can ga-ga over how cute she is! :)

In general, steam heat & pressure are what activates the glues in the interfacing. You will need an iron if you haven't figured that out already.

Since I embroider for many as it is a hobby and a $ide thing for me, I will tell you it coming off does not effect the design or the outfir. It will not bother her to sleep on it. Actually if you get one that is personally hand done; a good embroidery person will sit and cut off by hand the extra backing on the outfit. We call it "cleaning it up". So they are all like that, it just depends on if you got the clothing item before they cut the backing away. There is easy stitch backing (a lot cheaper material) that comes off after the design is complete; but it sounds like the designer/company that did your daughter's since the design is so large actually used a stable backing which has to be cut off by hand. If it is a company that designed it; a machine did it and just does not cut the extra off. So keep the pajamas and let her use them and know it will be fine.
