Has anyone heard of Ear Candling? If so, have you tried it and where did you go to have it done?

What can I do next?

HAHAHAHA! It's so funny you ask this! My husband and I have done it before and were just saying we wanted to do it again. You do it at home. They're available at GNC or The Vitamin Shop. You just lay down, stick it in your ear and light the candle. This is definitely a 2 person thing though. DO NOT ATTEMPT ALONE! It's kinda cool and gross to see what is pulled out of your ear. If you want any more info message me! Have fun!

Hi B.,
Mothering Magazine had a nice article a few years ago. You can request the issue through your library if you don't want to buy it. Also, my chiropractor does ear candling. Your western doctor will not be your solution. I am told that it works wonders by friends who do it.

Hi B.. I've done ear candling at home with my husband literally sitting next to me with a glass of water... just in case the candle burns too far or catches on something. I always like to have them on hand just in case one of us has an ear infection over the weekend before we can get to the doctor. I think that the candles sometimes help a bit.

Hi, I have had ear candling done twice and that was over 10 years ago. Probably more like 15. I had it done by this lady in LaGrange downtown area. I can't remember her name right now. I can't remember the exact process but they do put a cone in each ear and somehow with heat applied through the cone it draws the wax out of each ear. I'm talking huge clumps of wax that has been stagnant in each ear, probably pushed down through the improper use of Q-tips. Anyway, I heard much clearer after that, however, and this happens, the first time I went a piece of the wax dislodged and she could not get it out so I had to go back a couple of weeks later when it did not come out on its own. She could not continue because it would have caused trauma to my ear to try. I felt like something was rattling around in my ear cavity. I hope this answers your question.

Hi B.!

My husband and I have both had ear candeling done many times. It's really cool and helpful.
Timeless day spa in Naperville (on Ogden) does it (timelessdayspa.com). They are very nice there.

Good luck!
