Has anyone heard or gone to Dutch Wonderland before? We have never gone but it is a place that is on my list before I pay. My kids are 5 & 6 and 7mths.

What can I do next?

Hi, I was out of town, and just read your request. I just went to Dutch Wonderland 2 weekends ago with our 2 daughters (4 & 2), and had a wonderful time! I think DW is a perfect amusement park for families with young children. We went once last summer, and our older daughter bugged us all year to go back. She had a blast, as did my youngest. At 5 & 6, I think your boys will be able to enjoy all of the rides that have height restrictions. The "Duke's Lagoon" waterpark was a favorite spot for my whole family, and there is a "baby/toddler" area with small waterfountains that your baby may enjoy. We did the rides in the morning, ate lunch, then hit the waterpark. Then a few more rides before calling it a day. The park is very shady, which is nice for keeping your kids out of the blazing sun on summer days. I have found it not extremely crowded and little to no wait for most rides, except things like the log flume, etc. A weekday might be best if you're concerned about that. Also, I agree with another post that the food prices are very high. We eat big breakfasts, smuggle in a few snacks in the bottom of diaper bags, and eat a light lunch to keep the cost down. There is also a picnic area just outside the park, and you can get handstamps to go out & return later. My whole family truly enjoyed our 2 visits there. We plan to go back every summer until our kids are older. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. I've also emailed them directly (their email address is on the website) with questions a few times, and gotten quick, friendly responses. Have fun!

Hi,
I have been going to Dutch Wonderland for as long as I can remember. (I am 43). Your children are the perfect age, as the park is geared toward the younger kids. You can go online and print $2 off admission coupons before you go. No food or drink can be brought into the park, except for baby food and bottles. The admission cost is high, and food is expensive. That being said, plan on having a very nice day, lots to see, there is a waterpark, (small) that is included with admission. Bring your camera, as there are plenty of characters, a play that your children can participate in, amish photo opportunities, a few farm animals to see, pony ride (extra cost), and of course they can "milk" the cow that has been there since the 1970's. The monorail is included now, 2 coasters that are perfect for your 5 and 6 yr old. There is a show that is usually pretty good. Also, my son,(age 6), enjoys the gondola ride at the back of the park. We always start our visit with the train ride that circles the park. I still love it, and most of all, not only am I re-living my youth, but I am seeing it all again through my children's eyes. Have a wonderful time!

We went to DW last year and are going back again next month. It's awesome for you 5 and 6 year old. The park is ride after ride for kids with very small wait lines during the week. The water park was fun and we spent a huge chunk of time just hanging out there. I would highly recommend it.

I have been to Dutch Wonderland as a child myself, and with large group of children when I worked at a summer camp. It's a great amusement park for kids. I have not been there yet with my own 2 year-old. Hoping to get there this summer!

We've been there last summer with our kids (4 and 7 at the time). They loved it. Expect waiting in line for the rides, but other than that it is fun.
