I have a Pediatrician currently but I'm looking for another one in the West Plano area familiar with dealing with complex cases. My daughter spent a lot of time in the NICU and I'm looking for someone who is very thorough and skilled and of course has great bedside manner. Does anyone have a recommendation or have feedback on Dr. Webb?

So What Happened?

THANK YOU. Since my post I had a consultation with Dr. Webb. She seemed very professional and knowledgable (I had a list of questions to ask) but I also felt that she was a little cold. When I asked her about bedside manner and if she has any techniques to keep children calm she immediately became a little defensive and said kids don't like going to the doctor. That was a red flag for me. I tried calling Dr. Katz and Dr. Berkowitz and it seems like none of the good Pediatricians are accepting new patients. Any more suggestions are welcome at this point.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. David Samara - when my son was 3 months old he had a severe case of RSV and Dr. Samara was excellent - immediately got on the phone with Children's Medical Center and had them come pick him up because he was not confident the Plano hospitals would be able to properly accommodate my son to his (Dr. Samara's) standards. Excellent pediatrician. Pediatricplacetexas.com

Try Dr. Carolyn Ashworth. We have really liked her. She is not what I would call touchy feely, but she is very professional and has a good bedside manner. One of my friend's infant son had to undergo emergency surgery and she was awesome with him. She is very good. ###-###-####

I have no doubt that Dr. Webb is competent clinically, but she came across as a bit cold and harsh to us. We opted for another pediatrician as a result - Dr. Carolyn Evans. Dr. Scott Katz is also a wonderful doctor that many of our friends use. My suggestion it to set up an appointment to meet her. We knew VERY quickly that it was not going to be a good fit for our family. Maybe it was just an off day for her, but...

Hi S.,

Our son goes to Dr. Webb and we've been quite happy with her. One of the things I like about her is she does not prescribe medicine just for the sake of prescribing medicine and answers all questions very thoroughly and will put your mind at ease. Hope this helps.

HELLO! Dr. Mirando O. Ramirez. She is off of Preston near the Frisco border. Our daugther was premature and we had issues with her for two years. She's wonderful and does not have nurses filling in for her. She only shares her practice with another specialist, Dr. Golder Wilson.
She is personable and sweet and to the point. HIghly recommend her.

Our son was in the NICU as well and had a very rough start. We first had a terrible Pediatrician and then from recommendations from my husbands coworkers we found a wonderful, thorough, and caring pediatrician who is in West Plano. His name is Dr. Scott Katz. He is amazing! I can't say enough great things about him. He loves his little patients and really takes the time to listen to parent's concerns. He also does a good job of answering questions. His practice is located next to Medical Center of Plano. The office number is ###-###-####. Take care! :)

Hi S.,
My son was in the NICU for 3 weeks. After he came home we were having problems with him and the current pediatrician we were using was usless. Come to find out, our son had colic and acid reflux. I was recommended a pedicatician in McKinney (I know you are looking for one in West Plano) and he saved our lives! I would totally recommend him! His name is Dr. Kessinger and his number is 9.###-###-#### in case your interested! :)

Just saw your update...I actually started out taking my son to Dr. Berkowitz - and I REALLY liked him - until I had some concerns about vaccinations and he pretty much blew me off - so we found another doctor. We are now going to Dr. Bain in Frisco. She is great - very open to the delayed vaccination schedule. We've actually seen the nurse practitioner Christy the last few times we've been in and I really like her too. They don't rush into medicating your child - and are really into nutrition - they have a website - www.healthykidspediatrics.com. Good luck!!!
